.

.

23

MR. POPOVICH: May I shed a little light on that btcause
it's often difficult to compare Roseville. Remember, in Rosevllle
a portion of those bends were paid by general taxes and that's
one of the reasons why the fr0nt foot ccst was so much less cr the
per acreage cost. The second reason why it's higher here as compared
to the lower cost in Roseville, in Roseville we took in 50 many
acres of land that it got spread so much thinner but your Council
was mindful of the fact that it was only 2 years ago or 50 that
this Village voted down a sanitary sewer project so they want to
give service to the peeple who are crying fer it and need it and
later en as people become aware of their problem they can be added by .
subsequent sewer projects. . Then in those areas, the cost will vary
between each area. You moy hdve $12.0G here and $10.00 there,
depending on the cost of putting in the ser~e in that area. In
Raseville we teck large sections of the area at cne time plus a
large portion that was put on the general taxes and that's what
we're not ddng here. Only the people who are getting it \0&1 pay
for it.
m. lEENNAN: The increase went 8.7 mills in Reseville but
in the last 2 years and this year alon, has dropped the tax mill
rate 9 mills so, in other words, it hasn't increased at all for
the people because we've dropped 9 mills.
MR. FRANK YATHIS, 1392 West County Road E or Highway 10. We're
in the proposed area. First before I start talking about our
area I would like to admire the group that have gone ahead in
getting this improvement because it's coming. I came from a ,little
town of West St. Paul which everybody reads about in the papers
and when they started with a sewer system they started with three
blocks. We had the agitators up on the ether end and they didn't
