<br />Richard Schreyer presented Council with proposed plans for remodeling <br />Quilding at 4710 Highway #10. Mr. Schreyer stated that he would like some <br />Council action on the proposed building plans. Council informed him that <br />he has not yet received approval on his liquor license application forms. <br />Mr. Schreyer requested that new application forms to be sent to him. Council <br />informed Mr. Schreyer that the bonds need not be submitted with application <br />until Council acts on the application. Clerk to send application forms. <br /> <br />Ken Sparks announded that the Mounds View Recreation Assoc. met and are <br />making plans for next summer's program. He re~uested that a committee from <br />~Arden Hills be appointed to aid the association in planning. Matter referred <br />o Trustee Winfrey. <br />. Sparks also ask Council to consider making a request to proper officials <br />to set up part of the Twin Cities Araenal grounds as a national monument, <br />lan4 to be used for skiing and park site. Matter referred to Mayor AShbach. <br /> <br />Council requested Attorney Courbney to ammend our ordinance on council <br />meetings and make the second Monday a regular council meeting. <br /> <br />Clerk's Report: The village financial statement for 1958 was presented by <br />StromqUist. Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by Winfrey, the financial <br />statement as presented was approved by council and publication of same in <br />The Rose Tribune was authorized. Motion passed. <br /> <br />A application for off sale liquor license by Mr. Mazchesek was referred <br />to ,the Finance Committee. <br />( , <br />Upon motion by Ashbach, seconded by Stromquist the Public Health Committee <br />for. 1959 was appointed as follows: <br />. Dr, M. S. Sekhon, Chairman <br />Mrs. Leon Sabine <br />Mrs. Wm. Eachman Motion IJx Passed. <br /> <br />Stromquist read a letter from Attorney Courtney which stated approval <br />of the proposed playground naming contest as proposed by the Arden Hills <br />Sportsmsn's Club. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee: Mr. Kennedy questioned the 1959 road allotment <br />whiCh is lower than that of 1958. Clerk informed him that the amount is <br />t~~ which was requested by former road commissioner Delange in Sept, 1958 <br />when the budget was set up and approved. <br />Mr.,'Kennedy suggested the possible annexation of a protion of New Brighton <br />to make a mo~beneficial sewer arangement for both villages. The question <br />of the 1960 oensus was discussed and benefits to village if we could reach <br />5,0000 population because of road allotments and liquor laws. Mayor AShbach <br />to check into matter of taking an unofficial cnesus of village to determine <br />~ our present population. <br /> <br />Mr. Kennedy reported that there are ten streets in village not listed on <br />our list. He will check further and list them on our official list if <br />they ha ve been accepted by village. <br /> <br />Public Welfare Committee: Upon motion by Winfrey, seconded by Crepeau <br />rules were suspended and Ordinance #37, amanding Paragraph 1-34 of the <br />Building Code and adding Paragraph 3-26 to the Bui~ding Code was given <br />a second and final reading and ordered to be published in the Rose Tribune. <br />Motion passed. <br />Upon motion by Winfrey, seconded by Kennedy, Ordinance #38 was given a <br />second reading. Motionpassed. <br />
