MINUTES OF REGUIAR MEETING COUNCIL OF THE VILlAGE OF ARDEN HILIS Monday, March ge, 1959 The meeting was called to order at 8:09 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach. Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, stromquist. Absent; Winfrey. The Minutes of the March 5, 1959 Spec ial meeting were read and approved. The Minutes of the March 9, 1959 Regular meeting were read and approved as amended. 4Ilyor Ashbach called the special hearing on the vacation of a protion of Glenarden ROad to order. No residents appeared for the hearing. Mr. Kenneth Sparks, who submitted the petition stated that no one within a block of the proposed vacation objected when he canvassed the neighbor- hood on the matter. After council discussion of the matter, motion was made by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau that the portion of Glenarden Road as described in Notice of Hearing be vacated, as described in forma' resolution as attached. Motion passed. Mrs. Florence Ehlenz requested Cafe. Cigarette and Soft Drink licenses for the Arden Drive In at Highway 8 and View Avenue. Upon motion by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau, licenses were approved subject to proper applications and fees submitted to Clerk. Motion passed. Mrs. Ehlenz requested permission to replace a sign on same property with a new sign. Matter referred to Public Safety Committee. A request from Thomas Golden, 3401 Johanna Blvd. to put a basement under his house was referred to Public Welfare Committee. The house does not meet gresent min. building code requirements as to sixe. Mrs. Gerald Buetow announded a panel discussion to be held at the Alex. Ramsey H.S. April 8, 1959 at 8:00 P.M., the subject to be "Do We Need A County Board of Health?". The meeting has been arranged by the Ramsey County Council of the League of Women Voters. Mr. Pat Gaughn~~~ed to council's rezoning of Lot 13, Block 2, Dalsorer Additon at Cleveland and County Road D. Mr. Gaughn stated he purchased the property in 1953 when it was commercially zoned and it has now been rezoned without owners knowledge. Several former Zoning Committee members stated they remembered that that committee haa recommedded leaving the above mentioned property commercial. The matter was referred to the Public Welfare Comm~ttee. Richard ~chreyer presented Council with an envelope which he stated contained ...eew checks covering liquore license fees as applied for and Articles of ~ncorporation for Schreyer, Inc. Attorney Courtney reported on a meeting with Roseville's Attorney in regard to proposed sewer connection with Roseville for the SE portion of Arden Hills. Mayor Ashbach presented a letter to be sent to Roseville to consol- idate tentative agreement with Roseville. The letter was approved by Council to be sent to Mayor Cederholm of Roseville. Peter Popovich, Fiscal Agent explained letter of March 28, 1959 to Stromquis~regarding estimated costs of financing sewer project to the Council. Roger Short of Bannister Engineering Co. spoke ~riefly on the proposed project.
