<br />MINUTES OF REGUIAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILlAGE OF ARDEN HILIS <br />Monday, March ge, 1959 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:09 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach. <br />Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, stromquist. <br />Absent; Winfrey. <br />The Minutes of the March 5, 1959 Spec ial meeting were read and approved. <br />The Minutes of the March 9, 1959 Regular meeting were read and approved <br />as amended. <br /> <br />4Ilyor Ashbach called the special hearing on the vacation of a protion of <br />Glenarden ROad to order. No residents appeared for the hearing. Mr. <br />Kenneth Sparks, who submitted the petition stated that no one within a <br />block of the proposed vacation objected when he canvassed the neighbor- <br />hood on the matter. After council discussion of the matter, motion was <br />made by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau that the portion of Glenarden Road as <br />described in Notice of Hearing be vacated, as described in forma' resolution <br />as attached. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Florence Ehlenz requested Cafe. Cigarette and Soft Drink licenses <br />for the Arden Drive In at Highway 8 and View Avenue. Upon motion <br />by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau, licenses were approved subject to proper <br />applications and fees submitted to Clerk. Motion passed. Mrs. Ehlenz <br />requested permission to replace a sign on same property with a new sign. <br />Matter referred to Public Safety Committee. <br /> <br />A request from Thomas Golden, 3401 Johanna Blvd. to put a basement under his <br />house was referred to Public Welfare Committee. The house does not meet <br />gresent min. building code requirements as to sixe. <br /> <br />Mrs. Gerald Buetow announded a panel discussion to be held at the Alex. <br />Ramsey H.S. April 8, 1959 at 8:00 P.M., the subject to be "Do We Need A <br />County Board of Health?". The meeting has been arranged by the Ramsey <br />County Council of the League of Women Voters. <br /> <br />Mr. Pat Gaughn~~~ed to council's rezoning of Lot 13, Block 2, Dalsorer <br />Additon at Cleveland and County Road D. Mr. Gaughn stated he purchased <br />the property in 1953 when it was commercially zoned and it has now been <br />rezoned without owners knowledge. Several former Zoning Committee <br />members stated they remembered that that committee haa recommedded leaving <br />the above mentioned property commercial. The matter was referred to the <br />Public Welfare Comm~ttee. <br /> <br />Richard ~chreyer presented Council with an envelope which he stated contained <br />...eew checks covering liquore license fees as applied for and Articles of <br />~ncorporation for Schreyer, Inc. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney reported on a meeting with Roseville's Attorney in regard <br />to proposed sewer connection with Roseville for the SE portion of Arden <br />Hills. Mayor Ashbach presented a letter to be sent to Roseville to consol- <br />idate tentative agreement with Roseville. The letter was approved by <br />Council to be sent to Mayor Cederholm of Roseville. <br />Peter Popovich, Fiscal Agent explained letter of March 28, 1959 to <br />Stromquis~regarding estimated costs of financing sewer project to the <br />Council. <br />Roger Short of Bannister Engineering Co. spoke ~riefly on the proposed <br />project. <br />
