<br />NINUTES OF REGULAR }lEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN illLlS <br />Monday, April 27, 1959 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, DeLange, Stromquist <br />Absent; None <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The minutes of the April l3, 1959 meeting were read and approved as :.mended. <br /> <br />Mr. S. 3. Krannak inquired of the status of his proposed Shorewood Hills In plat~ Mr. Kennedy <br />inf<rmed him that the proposed plan will require a change in our zoning ordinance, and should <br />be ready for formal action by the }!ay 11 meeting of the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. A. L. Gaughan and Patrick 3. Gaughan requested formal motion by Council to rezone property <br />at Cleveland and County Road D back to commerical, as it was zoned residential by Council in <br />error _ a legal description of property to be rezoned was submitted by A. L. Gaughan to <br />Attorney Courtney. Motion was made by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau that a public hearing on <br />the matter be set for }!ay 25, 1959 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Pratt complained of condition of property and suggested the weeds, debris, etc. be <br />cleaned up. Mr. Gaughan stated that most of the papers, etc. blew acrOSS the street from <br />Kramm's fiocery, but stated that he will clean it up. <br /> <br />Mrs. Nelvin Nosher complained of weeds, etc. on the lot. Mr. DeLange informed group that <br />weed inspecter will order weeds cut if he receives a complaint on the matter. <br /> <br />Dick Schreyer informed Council that he has been made grounds keeper of the playground at <br />Harnline and COImty Road E. He discussed proposed parking faci:j.ities,at the playground. <br />Nayor Ashbach stated he is to hold a meeting ,'Ii th the group living around the playground to <br />discuss the matter. <br /> <br />VLayor Ashbach announced that Ke~.eth Sparks has resigned as playground representative for <br />Arden Hills. Mr. Vic Pomerenke was chosen by Council to replace him. Trustee Kennedy was <br />authorized by Council to spend up to $1,200.00 for playground development. Part of this <br />amount is to be taken from the 1959 budget, the balance from accrued funds for parks and <br />playgrounds. ' <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney repmrted that he and Engineer Carley are negotiating with Mrs. Patterson <br />to obtain necessary easement for the proposed new turn around at Ridgewood Court. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney was authorized by Comncil to proceed with negotiations witn abutting land <br />owners to Connelly Avenue for improvement of the road. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney reported that, due to an opinion by an Attorney General, the St. Paul <br />Abstract and Guarantee Company is no" .ulling to give title insurance for the Mounds View <br />Village clall, With tlds insurance, a registration action of title will be'unnecessary. <br />Attorney to proceed with negotiations with Monds View for purchase of hall, with payment for <br />hall to be held until the title insurance policy is delivered to us. <br /> <br />Council requested Attorney to revise Ordinance 1J4~ <br />
