Ilr. DeLange was appointed to meet with Shoreview officials to ~,ork out the <br />drainage problem. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKSl Mr. DeLange reported on minor road repairs. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Finance Committee: Mrs. Stromquist reported Committee recommendations as follows: That <br />William and Lois McQuire be given until June l, 1959 to name a location and start building <br />for On and Off Sale liquor establishment, and that follo~Qng issuance of licenses to McQuire <br />that the application presented by Schreyer, Inc. be considered next in line. Following <br />consideration of the Schreyer app~ication, if all licenses are not then issued, the application <br />of Ed Waldock be considered next. <br /> <br />PUBLIC 'iIELFARE COI'lKITTEE: Trustee Kennedy reported on the meeting held of RCMOA. A proposed <br />curfew ordinance recommended for all Villages in County was referred to Public Safety <br />Committee. <br /> <br />Council requested Mayor Ashbach to write to RCI'IOA indicating a desire to hear more about ths <br />proposed program of county-wide garbage and rUhbish incineration. <br /> <br />Kennedy reported on a new law by which claim vouchers may be eliminated. Clerk to check on <br />it. <br /> <br />PUBLIC SA.I!~Y COMlUTTEE: Mr. Crepeau reported on signs ordered and installed on Shoreline <br />Lane. <br /> <br />Crep3au reported that a policeman has been hired to police the Mounds View High School grands <br />during school hours. The school authorities Wld police department are cooperating to check on <br />cars on school grounds by transients and to see that all bus students go to and from school on <br />the buses. <br /> <br />Crepeau reported that, of the several applicati for policeman, the Committee recommended the <br />appointment of John LaRock. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by DeLange, Mr. John LaRock was appointed to the Arden Hills <br />police force effective May I, 1959. Ashbach abstained from voting. Motbn passed. <br /> <br />Crepeau reported he will need an additional policeman for the period of June 1 through <br />August 31, but held that appointment in abeyance. <br /> <br />Crepeau reported the Ramsey County sheriff's office would like Arden Hills to have II. <br />line to their dispatcher rather than using the answering service that we now employ. <br />to check into matter and report at, next meeting. <br /> <br />direct <br />Crepeau <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor's Report: lo!r. Gerlad Buetow, chairman Board of Appeals, recommended changes as listed <br />in letter to Public Welfare Committee and Mayor, and recommended purchase of more parks and <br />playground areas. Public Welfare Committee to study matters. <br /> <br />Mayor Ashbach read .. letter from ~bunds View Village asking that we consider their request to <br />use facilities of Twin Cities Arsenal sewer line when we obtain the lease. Ashbach to negotiate <br />with Mounds View. <br />
