<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, August 3l, 1959 <br />. page 2 <br /> <br />At the request of John Rysgaard, Trustee DeLange to ask Mr. Kranna.k to complete road stabiliza- <br />tion in front of Rysgaard's house at Rolling Hills Road and Gramsie before w.inter, or Village <br />to complete it with funds from performance bond. <br /> <br />Roger Short presented detailed sewer plans for Sewer Improvement #1 and 2. Motion made by <br />Crepeau, seconded by Kennedy to omit all lateral construction from manhole 5 to manhole 9. <br />. Motion passed. . <br /> <br />Mayor's Report: Mayor Ashbach reported the TCA officials approved our letter re: sewer lease <br />to Minneapolis City Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Ashbach read' a letter from ViUge of New Brighton tn",nlMng our Ci'\ti Defense Department <br />for help during their Old Timers Night Celegration. <br /> <br />Mayor Ashbach left the meeting at this time at 10:30 p.m. Trustee Crep>au was acting mayor <br />for balance of meeting. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE:: Trustee DeLange reported on road work being done and announced that <br />second cutting of weeds has been started MOnday, August 31. <br /> <br />DeLange reported he has not been able to have volley ball court oiled at playground as Engineer <br />Carley has not completed layout of court. <br /> <br />. Public Welfare: No further report. <br /> <br />Public Safety: M9tion made by Crepeau, seconed by DeLange that the Grotto Club discontinue <br />holding teenage dBnces. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Motion made by Crepeau, seconded by Kennedy that Bill Nielson be appointed to the regular <br />Village Police Force beginning September 1 for balance of 1959. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Crepeau reported that Mounds View school District requested school patrol by our police de- <br />partment for Mounds View High School and Lake Johanna School.At the suggestion of Treasurer <br />Read, Council requested Clerk to write to school district to see if they could aid us financially <br />in this matter as the schools serve more than just the Village of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Finmce Committee RellOrt: Mrs. Stromquist reported that plumbing and electrioal inspection <br />revisions to Building Code are still being !tudied by Committee. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee recommended a time limit of to September 28 for completion of re- <br />quirements for remodeling plans of Schreyer, Inc. Upon motion by Stromquist, seoonded by <br />DeLange, Schreyer, Inc. was given a time limit to September 28, 1959 to submit all require- <br />. ments and plans to begin remodsling building at His,hway 10 for the proposed Big Ten Bar. <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />Council requested Read, Stromquist and Crepeau to meetX with Don Stecker to aid him in com- <br />pleting quarterly liquor reports. <br /> <br />. Upon motion by Stromquist, seconded by Kennedy, Claims 1869 through 1899 were' approved for <br />J\Y1lIent. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Clerk announced that Mrs. Lindig, 1315 Koalasid Road, complained of weed growth and condition <br />of road on Koalski Road. Referred to DeLange. <br />
