<br /> Minutes of Regular Meeting. December 14. 1959 <br /> . Page 2 <br /> Schreyer. Inc. submitted applications for cafe. soft drinks. and cigarette <br /> ~censes and also for On-Sale intoxicating liquor license. Upon motion <br /> by Kennedy. seconded by Delange, these licenses were approved subject to <br /> ~ptoval by the Finance Committee. <br /> . Highway 10 Liquor store, Inc. submitted an application for an Off-Sale <br /> intoxicating liquor license. Mr. JohnSon was present to explain that <br /> since Schreyer. Inc. intends to operate a cafe in connection with its <br /> On-Sale liquor operation, it was necessary to sell their interest in the <br /> Big Ten Tavern to satisfy state law. There has been a new incorporation <br /> to handle the Off-Sale business. This was also approved subject to <br /> approval by the Finance Committee, on motion by De~nge, seconded by <br /> Kennedy. <br /> Lynthon C. Anderson, doing business as !ndy's Place, submitted applica- <br /> tions for On-Sale and Off-Sale Non-intoxicating nqaor, cigarette, soft <br /> drinkS and juke box licenses. A motion made by Kennedy. seconded by <br /> Delange. that these licenses be approved subject to checking by the <br /> Public Safety Department. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC ROADS: Delange reported that 1st Avenue in New Brighton will not <br /> be finished until spr ing. The contractor ruined his equipment trying to <br /> move a frozen pile of asphalt which will stay there until spring. The <br /> . job was started too late this fall to give atisfactory oompletion. <br /> Crepeau said he had a request from Dr. Calif on County Road F and High- <br /> way #19 for a "Slow _ Children" sign. De~nge said this was a oounty <br /> road with a 40.mi1e speed limit. The matter was referred to Delange. <br /> tUBLIC WELFARE: John Nesky called Kennedy and asked to have his addi- <br /> tional land ob Highway #96. 300 feet deep rezoned to cammeroia1. Mr. <br /> Kennedy asked that the matter be turned over to his committee for recom- <br /> mendation. <br /> Delange said that he had received many requests to rent the ice scraper <br /> the village is purchasing. After Council discussion, it was decided <br /> that there would be many uses for this scraper within the Village and <br /> it should not be rented out. <br /> A motion was made by Kennedy, seconded by Delange that claims #1667-1671 <br /> be approved. Motion carried. <br /> . William Hite appeared to give the Council an estimate for insurance on <br /> the Town Hall, based on appraisal from the MacGregor-Deyo Appraisal Co. <br /> Of the two suggested policies, Kennedy recommended that the Clerk be <br /> authorized to take out insurance to cover the replacement cost of the <br /> building as per recommendation of Hite Agency. Council concurred with <br /> . this recommendation. <br /> Delange stated that the drainage problem on Mounds and Prior is to be <br /> placed first on next summer's agenda for correction as per Carley'S pro- <br /> file submitted at Council meeting. <br />
