Hills Building Code, To Include Licensing Provisions for House Sewer <br /> Contractors had previously been introduced by title. Kennedy moved <br /> that the rules be suspended and ordinance as read be regarded as <br /> final reading and passed, seconded by Delange. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE: Kennedy reported that he felt it unnecess- <br /> ary to take the matter of the John Nesky land along Highway #96 <br /> and 300' deep rezoning to the Public Welfare Committee and recommended <br /> that it be set for Public Hearing January 25. Delange made a motion <br /> that the usual notices be prepared by attorney, seconded by Kennedy. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> crepeau brought up matter of sign to be erected by McGuire's LiquorJs, <br /> Inc. on own property relating to business on property. Courtney ad- <br /> vised that as long as sign conformed with state law and pertained to <br /> business on pecperty and, unless protested by Councilor residents, <br /> it will be satisfactory. <br /> . The bill received from M. S. Mergens, grading contractor, for grading <br /> First street was turned over to the Mayor. It was over the legal limit <br /> of $1,000,00 for jobs where advertized bids were not submitted. <br /> J. R. Risgaard, west end of Gramsie Road, complained about the con- <br /> dition mf Gramsie Road. He asked to have the Council authorize rock <br /> fill and grading of road immediatly. Mayor reported blade already <br /> ordered to take care of matter next day. <br /> PUBLIC ROADS: No report. <br /> Mayor said that Delange had been on Council since 1951, and he person- <br /> nally wanted to thank him for all of the work he has done for the <br /> Village. The Council concurred with the Mayor. <br /> Kennedy reported that the Public Welfare Committee had reconsidered <br /> the application of Texaco to install a station at County Road D and <br /> , Cleveland. Committee approved it with the recommendation that Texaco <br /> . provide a cyclone fence along the lot line and put in a screen plant- <br /> ing along the north side of the ~tatiea.~. <br /> Delange moved that the Council approve the building permit for this <br /> Texaco station provided that they guarantee by cash deposit the in- <br /> stallation of a cyclone fence along lot line and a screen planting <br /> to the north of the station. Cash deposit to be determined by buila- <br /> . ing inspector and contractor. Seconded by Kennedy. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY: Crepeau reported that the Chief of Police and Public <br /> Safety Department checked Mar-Dee's Inn and Andy'S Place and found <br /> them in satisfactory condition for operation in coming year. <br />
