Meet- <br /> ing scheduled for 7:00 p,m, <br /> A letter from Charles Edwards pertaining to sewer, building require- <br /> ments, etc. was referred to Kennedy for answer. <br /> Mayor recommended that Council set up meeting after the first of the <br /> year for the residents of Arden Hills #1 who are interested in con- <br /> necting to the sewer. <br /> Clerk reported that the preliminary balance of December 28, 1959 <br /> showed the following in the various funds; General fund - $:50,910.67; <br /> Fund 1, Playground - $491.61; Fund 2, Grant Road - $667,22; and <br /> Fund :5, Sewer Construction - $87,455,28. ' <br /> . Crepeau moved that the Clerk and Treasurer be authorized to invest <br /> Village funds in short term. securities until needed for village ob- <br /> ligations, seconded by Delange. Motion carried. <br /> A letter from Banister Engineering Co. was read concerning the cost <br /> of installing :5 phase electric power service for the sewage lift <br /> station, Since Northern States Power Company will not make the <br /> power available without charge, Banister recommended that the Council <br /> pay the $855 as requested. Kennedy moved that the action of the <br /> Clerk "e ratified. Seconded by DeLange, Motion passed. <br /> crepeau moved that License Applications for Off-Sale non-intoxicating <br /> malt liquor, cigarettes and groceries for Kempls Grocery be approved <br /> subject to approval by the Public Safety Department and completion <br /> of application. Seconded by Kennedy. Motion carried. <br /> Crepeau moved that license applications for juke box, soft drinks, <br /> cafe, cigarettew, Off- and On*Sale non-intoxicati~ng malt liquor for <br /> Grotto Club, Inc. be approved subject to approval by the Public <br /> . Safety Department. Seconded by Kennedy, motion passed. <br /> Delange moved that Claims #2002 through #2047 be approved for payment. <br /> Seconded by Crepeau, motion carried. <br /> Mr. Read reported that he had the liquor license applications for <br /> . Schreyer, Inc., Highway 10 Liquor store, Inc., McGuire'S Liquors, Ine. <br /> and Wagon Wheel, and that the Finance Committee investigation is con- <br /> tinuing.
