.

.

24

~ brief description of how deep your cuts are going to be around
through the streets?
MR. SHORT: I think I can do that best if I look at this map
over here rather than the general one. Do you have any ~articular
point in mind, W~. Buetow?
MR. BUETOW: Nothing particular.
MR. SHORT: The sewers i~ the area from present Hamline Avenue
east in most instances, are going to run in depth from 12 or 13
feet deep down to a minimum depth of perhaps 7 feet. There are a
few points where there are low lake shore properties where the
sewers will run as far as 14 feet in that area. Along Hamline

Avenue, the sewers probably are going to run somewhere between
8 and 12 feet as is common in most sanitary sewer construction.
~ Sewers are built normally to serve the basements and most
basements are in the ground on normal building sites approximately
5~ to 6 feet although it may be as much as 8 feet so you reco9nize
to construct sewers deep enough it has to have a depth of about
8 feet. Jhere you are a flat property you have to start low to
reach the extremities, then you may get in flat ground to 14 or
15 feet. There are greater depths at some points - here for
instance on Arden Place where there are some low lying houses the
depths are going to be considerable. Again on Siems Court where some
of the houses on the east side lay quite low that's going to be a
depth of 16 or 17 feet. j
MR. BUETO~: To be more specific, how about Forest Lane and
3Yiles Lane. The reason I ask that is it's rater hilly in that
terrain.

MR. SHORT: On Forest Lane and Skiles Lane - my recollection
