Pat Sexton effective as of November 19, 1964; seconded by <br /> Trustee Olwen; motion carried. <br /> Trustee Cre~eau moved that James La Valle, 311 East Little Canada Rd., <br /> be APpointed as temporary patrolman, effective as of November 10, <br /> 19b4, at Dhe rate of $2.20 per hour; seconded by Clerk Lorraine <br /> Stromquist; motion carried. <br /> Trustee Crepeau informad the Council that James La V8lle has previous <br /> training and qualification and that he has several applications which <br /> he is considering. <br /> , REPORT OF TRUSTEE OLME:N <br /> Truck Storap.:e <br /> Trustee Olmen stated that he had talked with a resident on a complaint <br /> regarding the parking of the maintenance trucks at the storage build- <br /> ing on New Brignton hoad and the resident seemed satisfied. However, <br /> the potential buyer of the property in back of the storage building <br /> was present at this meeting and voiced his objection to building a <br /> $30,000 home on this site if the present arrangement is permanent. <br /> Mayor explained that he feels that this storare problem will be solved <br /> within a few years as the Council realizes the situation and the <br /> Village Planner also feels that truck storage facilities should not <br /> be in a residential area. The buyer appeared satisfied. <br /> Matter offinding other stora~e facilities for the maintenance trucks <br /> for the present referred to Trustee Olmen and maintenance man Fred <br /> Nixon. <br /> Lift Station Problema <br /> !,'red Nixon reported that there is considerable trouble. with the lift <br /> stations serving Shol'ewood Hills and Johanna areas. He informed the <br /> Council of a new system which he believes would eliminate the problem <br /> as it operates on a diffel'ent principle. Referred to Trustee Olmen <br /> for study. <br /> REPORT OF MAYOR KENNEDY <br /> Civil Defense Meetinf <br /> In response to a let er from Governor Rolvaag, Clerk Lorraine StromqUist <br /> was authorized to attend a Civil Defense Meeting for PUblic Officials <br /> at the 3 M Building on Highway 12 on December 2, 1964. Meeting to be <br /> sponsored by the University of Minnesota. <br /> Mayors' Meeting <br /> Mayor Kennedy stated that he will attend the Mayors' Meeting as <br /> called by Mayor Vavoulis at the Minnesota Club on December 10. <br /> Premises Complaint <br /> A complaint received by Mayor Kennedy regarding the premises of a <br /> home was refel'red to TrusteeCrepeau, <br /> . REPORT OF CLERK LORRAINE STROMQUIST <br /> Roseville Sewer Rates <br /> CLerk Lorraine stromquist read a letter. dated November 13, 1964, from <br /> Richard Turnlund - Village Manager for Roseville, which stated that <br /> he will submit a proposal to the Roseville Village Council regarding <br /> their sewer charges to Arden Hills and will request a joint meeting <br /> to discuss the matter. <br /> Electrical Rate Reduction <br /> Clerk Lorraine Stromquist reported that a lettel' has been received. <br /> dated November 24, 1964, st~ting that a reduction in the N.S.p. <br /> electriCal ra~s will become effective at the first readings after <br /> December 31, 1904. <br /> =3... <br /> ----- ----------.-- <br />
