DONALD LUND (by letter) <br /> Presbyterian Homes . <br /> . t;lerk Lorraine Stromquist read a letier submitted by Engr. Lund con- <br /> cerning the Presbyterian Homes acquisition of additional property on <br /> the lake which they intend to fill end beautify. Engr.Lund informed <br /> the Council that the Village must maintain drainage across a portion <br /> of this property for Sandeen Ro~d. <br /> Mayor Kennedy info~ed the Council that the area could be filled only <br /> to the point where the cat-tails grow. The cost of the project was <br /> discussed and the Council felt that the Village should contribute <br /> some financial assistance since we should have some control of the <br /> project and must maintain drainage rights. <br /> Matter referred to Mr. Nixon to determine the number of feet to the <br /> catetails and also an estimate of cost. <br /> The Councll authorized Mayor Kennedy to report to the Presbyterian <br /> Homes the Village interest in the project. <br /> REPORT OF BUILDING INSPECIDOR - Clay Kelley <br /> Unauthorized Structure <br /> Mr. Kelley reported that the two buildihgs in the Industrial Park <br /> for Which building permits have been taken out by Mr. Eugene Colestock. <br /> have now been connected which haS increased the floor space consider- <br /> ably - no building permit has been taken out for this structure. Mr. <br /> Kelley informed the Council that Mr. Colestoc~ believed that he had <br /> permission for this construction from I~. Buetow, Chairman of the <br /> Planning Commission. <br /> Mayor Kennedy suggested that Trustee Nethercut confer with Mr. Cole- <br /> stock on this matter. <br /> REPORT OF TRUSTEb: N.ETHERCUT <br /> Planning Commission Appointment <br /> Trustee Nethercut reminded the Council that the appointment of a <br /> replacement of Jim Hill on the Planning Commission must be a member <br /> of the Welfare Committee. also. to act as a liason. Matter referred <br /> to Clerk Lorraine Stromquist. <br /> Rezoning Request <br /> Trustee Nethercut reported that Mssrs. Jurgenson. Lambert, Laverdiere <br /> . and Mr. Jurgenson's atty. attended the flanning Commission meeting <br /> regarding the request for rezoning 25 acres at the southeast corner <br /> of Highway No. 51 and County Road E to permit multiple dwellings. The <br /> Palnning Commission haa not received acceptable plans Which. in its <br /> opinion. would justify 8 recommendation of rezoning. <br /> Villa~e Planninf - Report No. 1 <br /> Mrs. issol dis ributed copies of R~ort No.1 to the members of the <br /> Council. She informed the Council that fifty copies are available <br /> and were to be distributed to the Village ~ngineer. Village Atty., <br /> Building Inspector, State Highway Dept. and two to the library. <br /> Additions to this list were suggested by the Council. <br /> Request for Skating Facilities <br /> In response to a written request from Mr. G. Harmon. Mounds View <br /> Recreation Director, Trustee Nethercut moved that Mr. Harmon's request <br /> be granted. subject to the approval of the Welfare Committee. and <br /> the same arrangements as last year be granted for the ice skating on <br /> Lake Johanna; seconded by Trustee Crepeau; motion carried.
