Jim Hill had asked h1m to verbally tender his resignation from the Planning Commission and alao his ohairmanship of the Public Welfare Committee as he is moving from the Village. Trustee Nethercut moved, aeconded by Trustee Crepeau, that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Hill. Trustee Nethercut informed the Council that Justin Smalley wil~ be Acting Chairman of the Welfare Committee. Planning Commiasioft Trus tee Meth.rcut distributed to the Council material 1'rOZll the Planning Commission and requested that the Cle1k attend the next Planning Commission meeting to familiarize the Commission with the various forms used by the Village. Clerk Lorraine Stromquist read a letter, dated October 9, 1904, from the Planning Commission which recommended approval of the Perry Plat subject to several changes aa described in their minutes. REPORT OF MAYOR KENNEDY Mayor Kennedy discussed Amendment No.1, the Taconite Amendment, which will be on the ballot on November 3, and had literature which had been sent to him. This meeting was held to discuss the proposed 1965 Village Budget~ She reported that the Finance COlIII1ittee reoommended aooeptanoe of the budget. The Clerk read . the budget which.ill decreese the Village will rete to about 21 mills, which 1s about 5 mills less than last year.. This re~ . duotion due to the inoreaeed valuation of the Village. Trustee Olmen moved.the approval of a resolution acoepting the 1965 budget and proposed tax levy, as attaohed; trustee Nethercut seconded; motion carried.
