The Jaycees will <br /> attempt to do this painting this Saturday. <br /> Mayor Nethercut expressed appreciation be conveyed to the Jaycees <br /> by Mr. James Plemmons, who was present at the Council meeting. <br /> REPORT OF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> Firemen's Rei ief Association <br /> A letter, dated October ~967, was submitted by Attorney <br /> Courtney detailing procedure to be followed with checks from the <br /> State of Minnesota for the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fireman's <br /> Rei lef Association. <br /> \1ater Improvements 67=1 anci 67-2 <br /> Attorney Courtney submitt~d to Clerk Lorraine Stromquist copies of <br /> the contracts for these Improvements with a letter, dated October 9, <br /> 1967, on the subject. Clerk Lorraine Stromquist stated that <br /> McDonald and Associates, Inc. , the contractor for both projects, <br /> is prepared to start working tomorrow; the completion date for both <br /> projects Is December 31, 1967. She inquired i f this contract provides <br /> for the construction of water lines to the customers, Attorney <br /> Courtney replied that a water ordinance will be required to control <br /> the construction. Attorney Courtney informed the Council that he <br /> is to meet with Engineer Short tomorrow concerning water matters. <br /> Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Olmen, that the contracts <br /> between the Village and McDonald and Associates, Inc. for Water <br /> Improvements 67-1 and 67-2, be signed by the Mayor and the Clerk; <br /> motion carried. <br /> Proposed Water Contract with Rosevil Ie <br /> Attorney Courtney submitted copies of a rough draft of a proposed <br /> contract between Arden HII Is and Rosevll Ie for the purchase of water. <br /> As suggested by Attorney Courtney and recommended by Mayor Nethercut, <br /> . the Council agreed that Mayor Nethercut, Trustee Crepeau, Robert <br /> McNiesh, Chairman of the Water Study Committee, work with Attorney <br /> Courtney and the Village Engineer to negotiate a contract with <br /> Rosev II Ie in an attempt to have a f I na I contract by the next Council <br /> meeting - a special counc I I meeting could be held to f I na I I ze the <br /> contract, i f needed. <br /> Easement - County Road-I- <br /> Attorney Courtney reported that the easement from the American Oil Co. <br /> has been received and recorded; the abstract of title has been ordered. <br /> Library Pro~ert~ <br /> Attorney Courtney reported that the purchase of the I ibrary site by <br /> Arden Hi I Is from Bethel College has been concluded and wil I be record- <br /> ed tomorrow. <br /> Clerk Lorraine Stromquist requested to contact the Ramsey County <br /> LI brary Board to inform them that we are now In a position to convey <br /> the title and to set a meeting for this procedure. <br /> -2- <br />
