There were no questions from the floor. <br /> Clerk Stromquist reported that the budget will be ready, in final form, <br /> for f I na I Counc I I action at the meeting of October 30, 1967. <br /> Mayor Nethercut reported that the Finance Committee recommended <br /> that a letter be sent to Village residents concerning the Budget <br /> and Tax Levy. Clerk ~equested by Council to draft letter which <br /> should be mal!ed by October 20th. <br /> United Nations' Day Proclamation <br /> Mayor Nethercut proclaimed October 24 as United Nations' Day as <br /> also proclaimed by President Johnson (proclamation attached). A <br /> copy of the proclamations is to be sent to the President of the <br /> League of Women Voters of Arden Hil Is as observance of the day was <br /> previously referred to them. <br /> Leaque of Minnesota Municipalities _ Metro Section <br /> Lette r, dated September 29, 1967, received from the Metro Section <br /> outlined the specific items they intend to study this year and re- <br /> quested quat ified volunteers from municipality officers. Mayor <br /> Nethercut read the subjects I I sted and requested the Counc i I to In- <br /> form the Clerk of their Intentions before the deadline of October 13. <br /> C i v II Defense <br /> Mayor Nethercut referred to Trustee Crepeau the notice of a training <br /> session on Civil Defense to be heid at Crystal on November 8, 1967. <br /> Metropol itan Counci I <br /> Mayor Nethercut informed the Council that the Metro Council staff <br /> will be involved in the 1970 census taking, They are going to attempt <br /> to do most of this by mail. Mayor Nethercut presented maps to Clerk <br /> Lorraine Stromquist with instructions for updating. Maps to be com- <br /> pleted by the end of October, <br /> . Street LiQhts - fiiQhway 51 and Countr.Ji.oad E <br /> Maintenance man Fred Nixon confirmed that work has been started by <br /> the State Highway Department for the I ightlng of the intersectIon <br /> at Highway 51 and County Road E. <br /> REPORT OF ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK LORRAINE STROMQUIST <br /> Sewer Connections <br /> Clerk Lorraine Stromquist stated that she will have a complete II st <br /> of the houses In Arden Hills which have been granted extensions of <br /> tIme for connection to the sewer system by the next meeting. <br /> COllnci I Action on the Lomba rd-Bachman request for extensIon of time <br /> was delayed unt i I submission of this report. <br /> ?ewer Rates Contract <br /> Clerk Lorraine Stromquist Informed the Council that Mr. Jos. Sill, <br /> AssiSTant to Rosevllie Manager Turnlund, has stated that negotiations <br /> are almost completed regarding the new sewer rate contract between <br /> Rosevllle and Sf. PaUl and should be signed before the end of the <br /> year; the rates are as previously proposed. <br /> -3- <br />
