<br />, <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, June 26, 1967 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Meeting was callad to order by Mayor Nethercut at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Nethercut, Trustees Hollenhorst, Crepeau, Olmen <br />and BJorndah I. <br />Absent - None <br />Also Present - Village Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, Village <br />Engineer D~nald Lund, Administrative Clerk Lorraine <br />Stromquist and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of 12 June 1967 were <br />approved as amended. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Dwight Peterson, 1536 Edgewater Avenue, presented a petition <br />to the Council, which read "The undersigned hereby petition the <br />Village Council of Arden Hills to take appropriate actlon(s) <br />which will permit the residents of Arden Hills No.3 to connect <br />to the Rosevllle system, which now extends Into Arden Hills No.3. <br />This Is requested as separate action from other studies now under- <br />way In the Council." Twenty seven families had signed the <br />petition. <br /> <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Olmen that the Resolution <br />on this matter which was passed Msy 22, 1967 be rescinded, and <br />substitute the revised Resolution; motion carried. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Sunday Liquor Llce~es <br />Attorney Courtney submItted a letter, dated June 26, 1967, to <br />Clerk LorraIne Stromquist, concernIng his opInions regarding this <br />matter. Subjects covered were the general procedure, hours for <br />voting, effect of an adverse vote, amendment of our present liquor <br />ordinance and a proposed sample ballot. <br /> <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist Informed the Council that she had contacted <br />other municipalities on the subject and obtained the following <br />Information: <br />Rosevllle and New Brighton haye municipal liquor; Shore- <br />view may have a special election; Mounds View hss no speclfl~~lens~ <br />the matter has not been discussed by the Council; St. Paul has <br />had no formal requests; therefore, has no plans; Mpls. has had In- <br />quiries, but no formal requests, unlikely to hold a special election. <br />Mayor Nethercut stated he would like the VIllage to hold off wIth <br />an election until the central cities have their elections; no reflec- <br />tion on McGuire's - he feels they operate a very fine and trouble- <br />free establIshment. <br /> <br />There was some discussion on thIs matter; the council members felT <br />that since a forma' request was msde to the Council for a special <br />election, the voters should make the decision. <br /> <br />Trustee BJorndahl moved the adoption of a resolution, as attached, <br />setting July 25, 1967 as the date for a special election to deter- <br />mine whether liquor wi!
