<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday - 22 May 1967 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Ca II to Order <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Nethercut at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Rol f Ca II <br />Present - Mayor Nethercut, Trustees Hollenhorst, Crepeau and Olmen. <br /> <br />Absent - Trustee Bjorndahl. <br /> <br />Also Present - Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, EngIneer Donald Lund, Administra- <br />tive Clerk Lorraine Stromquist and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan. <br /> <br />A roval of Minutes <br />The mtnute~ of the Regular CouncIl meetIng of 8 May 1967 were approved as <br />amended. <br /> <br />Public Hearlng - Hem Radio Tower <br />Wal lace Karjaiahtl was present and Informed the Council that he had written <br />approval to Install a ham radIo tower on his property from 21 of the 25 land- <br />owners within a 250' radius of hIs property; one onwer did not sign, but wil I <br />not attempt to stop the project - three of the owners were out of town. Mayor <br />Nethercut asked If anyone at the meeting had any comments on the matter - no <br />response. <br /> <br />Trustee Hol lenhorst moved approval, as recommended by the Planning Commission, <br />of granting ~ Conditional Use Permit to Mr. Karjalshtl, 1745 Crystal Avenue, to <br />Install a 6~ ft. ham radio tower on his property; seconded by Trustee Olmen; <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney stated that the Ordinance calls for a $25.00 fee for this <br />permit; Mr. Karjalahti was agreeable to paying this amount. Mayor Nethercut <br />requested the BuIlding Inspector to tour the Village for other antennae In- <br />stallations which mIght be in violation of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. KarJalahtl informed the Counci I that the base of the tower will be In <br />place wIthin a week, but InstallatIon will not be completed until August when <br />he returns from a trip. <br /> <br />Valentine Lake View Plat <br />Gale Hendrickson presented the final plat of hls~alentine Lake View Plat. <br />Trustee Hollenhorst Informed the Council that tha Planning Commission held a <br />special meeting last Thursday evening and concurred with Attorney Courtney's <br />recommendation, restricting any building within 10 feet of the road easement. <br /> <br />Trustee Hol lenhorst moved acdeptance of the final plat, subject to the provision <br />that no bui Idlng be constructed within 10 feet of, the westerly road easement; <br />seconded by Trustee Crepeau; motion carried. Final plat was signed by Mayor <br />and Clerk and Village seal affixed. Attorney Courtney returned the abstract <br />and title for the property to Mr. Hendrickson. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br /> <br />ert Maintenance Com laint <br />ge Salltros, 3625 North Hamllne Avenue, voiced disapproval of trucks, <br />Is and/or building material on the following properties: 1423 County Road <br />E, 1401 County Road E; debris on a portion of the Flaherty's Bowl property <br />and debris and building material on the Arden Lumber Yard's property between <br />the building and freeway; he stated that these last two locations can be seen <br />from the freeway. Mr. Salltros also Informed the Council that the large light <br />on the parkIng lot at Flaherty's shines on his property and is disturbing. <br /> <br />The I ight matter was referred to the Publ Ie Safety Commlt+ee and the matters <br />of debris to the Arden Hil Is Community Improvement Committee. <br /> <br />Cummlnqs Lane Matt~ <br />Mr. Jerome Timm, 1400 Cummings Lane, asked several questions concerning the <br />area. Engineer Lund informed him that the Village maintenance crew would <br />seal coat Cummings Lane; the seal coating work is scheduled so one-third of <br />the Vi Ilage Is done each year. Engineer Lund also informed him that money <br />has been retained from the road contractor until such time as the curbing is <br />completed satisfactorily. Mr. Tlmm requested that if the mercury light planned <br />for Snelling Avenue and Cummings Lane Is not to be instal led soon, the resi- <br />dents would like the present light replaced; this light has been out for <br /> <br />-1- <br />
