<br />MINUTES Of REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday - 8 May 1967 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Nethercut at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Present - Mayor Nethercut, Trustee Hollenhorst, Crepeau, Olmen <br />and Bjorndahl (arrived at 8: 15 p.m.) <br /> <br />Absent - None. <br /> <br />Also Present - Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, Engineer Donald Lund, <br />Building Inspector Clay Kelley, Administrative Clerk <br />Lorraine Stromquist and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the Regular CouncIl meeting of 24 April 1967 were approved <br />as amended. <br /> <br />ChanQe of ReQular Council MeetlnQ Date <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst, that the next <br />Regular Council Meeting be held on 22 May 1967 Instead of 29 May 1967, <br />because of the Memorial Day holiday; motion carried. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit Request - Case No. 67-10 <br />Wallace W. Karjalahti, 1745 Crystal Avenue, requested a conditional use <br />permit to erect on his property a self supporting radio transmitting <br />tower 62 feet high. He stated that he has received approval for this <br />tower from all possible land owners within a 250 foot radius of his prop- <br />erty as requested by the Planning CommIssIon. Attorney Courtney stated <br />that since this matter was requested before the passage of the new <br />Zoning Ordinance, the procedure under old Ordinance No. 20, must be followed; <br />this requires a public hearing to be held by the CouncIl. <br /> <br />Mr. Karjalahti Informed the Council that he already has a six foot ex- <br />cavation for the tower installation, which Is a hazard and would lIke a <br />decisIon in time to Install the tower before he leaves the area at the <br />end of May. <br /> <br />Trustee Hollenhorst stated that there would not be another Planning <br /> <br />Commission meeting before the .flrst Tuesday in June, but their recommen- <br /> <br />dation could be accomplished by polling the members. <br />~ - ... <br /> <br />Trustee Hollenhorst moved Attorney Courtney be authorized to prepare tbv <br />notice of public hearing, cause Its publication and the hearIng date be <br />set for 22 May 1967; seoonded by Trustee Crepeau; motion carried. <br /> <br />REPORT Of ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br /> <br />~o osed Ramse Count Llbrar <br />ttorney Courtney reported that the Library Board would like conveyance <br />'this year of the property for the proposed library. It was determined <br />that It would be possible to pay the $25,000 this year by a temporary <br />transfer of funds, but the Council agreed with Attorney Courtney's sug- <br />gestion that we ask for a delay until next year if possible; Attorney <br />Courtney will pursue this matter and also request a letter from the Board <br />stating their requisites. <br /> <br />Police Car Contract <br />Trustee Crepeau moved, seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst that the contract <br />between the Village and Ron Saxon Ford Company be executed for the pur- <br />chase of 1967 pollee car In the amount of $2,874.00 and the trade In of <br />a 1965 Ford pollee wagon; motion carried. The orIgInal copy, signed by <br />the Mayor and Clerk and the specifications were submitted by the Attorney <br />to Lorraine Stromquist. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
