<br />;/ p)V <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Vi Ilage of Arden Hi lis <br />Monday - 24 April 1967 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Nethercut ~t 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Nethercut, Trustees Crepeau, Hollenhorst and Olmen. <br /> <br />Absent - Trustee BJorndahl <br /> <br />Also Present - <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Village Attorney Vincent P. Courtney (arrived at 9:00 p.m.) <br />Engineer Donald Lund, Building Inspector Clay Kel ley, <br />Administrative Clerk Lorraine Stromquist and Deputy Clerk <br />Florence Honan. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of 10 April 1967, were approved <br />as submitted. <br /> <br />Squad Car Bid OpeninQ <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist opened the one bid received for a new squad car; <br />this bid from Ron Saxon Ford, Inc. in the amount of $3,574 less $700.00 <br />trade In.1 lowance. <br /> <br />Trustee Crepeau moved approval of the bId, subject to review by Attorney <br />Courtney, and authorized the attorney to write up the contract; seconded <br />by Trustee Hollenhorst: motion carried. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Lake Terrace Plat <br />Misses Elbner and Starr, owners of the property, were present and stated <br />they had submitted all the necessary maps and reports. However, their <br />attorney Is still checking an easement m~tter. Trustee Hol lenhorst g~ve <br />the background of the application, stating that the property Is located <br />between Snelling Avenue and Lake Johanna and consists of about 5 acres <br />about 185' wide and about 500' deep; variances were requested to eliminate <br />a cul-de-sac and to construct a 30' road rather than the required 60' <br />until such time as abutting property Is developed. <br /> <br />The owner of the abutting property north of .the proposed plat stated he <br />had no objections to the plat. <br /> <br />Eugene Gazelka. 3263 North Snelling Avenue. another abutting property. <br />owner. stated the plat appears satisfactory to him with the exception of <br />the road easement; he does not believe the 30' which Is to be dedicated is <br />actually located entirely on this property. Miss starr again Informed him <br />that their attorney will check this matter further. <br /> <br />Trustee Hollenhorst referred to a letter from Mr. Gazelka. dated 4-5-67. <br />In which he requested an overall study of the subdivIsion of the area and <br />also s~~._p I~~s.. T~tee Hollenhorat does not believe that this plat will <br />attectD.aiioolTl_rL p .''i;i. {Engineer Lund reported that It would not be <br />feasible to sewer th two lots adjacent to Snelling Avenue. but the subject <br />would be reconsidered when further development occurs. He stated that <br />.~raln fields would work at these two sites according to soil tests taken. <br /> <br />"'rustee Olmen stated his concern regardIng snow plowing of this narrow street <br />and no turn around area for the equipment. <br /> <br />Miss Starr informed him that equipment could turn around on their present <br />property. and a temporary easement would be given the VIllage untIl such <br />time as the street Is widened. <br /> <br />Trustee Hollenhorst moved approval of the preliminary plat subject to <br />~pproval of Attorney Courtney. ~he plat revIsed to show the maintenance turn <br />around, and the verification of the ownership of the 30' proposed easement <br />to be dedicated to the Village for road purposes; seconded by Trustee Crepeau; <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />County Ditch No.4 <br />Engineer Lund explained that a box culvert is planned for Installation <br />between Lake Johanna and Little Lake Johanna; Rosevi"e will pay the entire <br />cost. Engineer Lund stated the effect on the lake level cannot be predic- <br />ted, but believes Arden Hills should contact the County regardIng future <br /> <br />.,1- <br />
