PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />Previous public sector/municipal experience and related experience in a permit issuance role. Previous <br />PermitWorks and Laserfiche experience desired. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />Ability to organize and prioritize work, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. General <br />knowledge of the functions and activities of the City; general knowledge of standard office and customer service <br />procedures; ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, policies, <br />and regulations, ordinances, codes, contracts, and procedure manuals; ability to make arithmetic computations <br />using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to prepare <br />reports and correspondence; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to understand <br />and follow written and oral directions; ability to operate standard office equipment including related hardware <br />and software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general <br />public. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, using <br />hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires speaking or hearing and occasionally <br />requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; <br />vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is <br />required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written <br />or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no <br />exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, <br />light traffic). <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Specific job -related software training. <br />SELECTION GUIDELINES <br />Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job related tests may <br />be required.
