Courtney, Engineer Donald
Lund, Treasurer Worth Read, Building Inspector Clay
Kelley, Administrative Clerk Lorraine Stromquist,
and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan.

~~oval of MInutes
~ ~e minutes of the regular council meeting of January 9, 1967, were
approved as amended.

!:"amsey County Enqlneer Deane Anklan - Re: Lake Levels
Mr. Anklan Informed the Council that they hops to keep the lake level
down until after the Lambros drainage project Is completed. The County
has been requested to keep the lake at a special ~hlevel on the west
side of Lake Johanna. He stated that their budget for this purpose Is
limited by the State to $75,000, but this year the amount has been
decreased to $65,000.00. The best answer to the problem would be to
Incorporate several lakes In the pumping system; the desirable range
for Lake Johanna would be a one-half foot range, but they hope to com-
promise with the requests of the residents. The County would certainly
attempt to eliminate flooding conditions, but certain weather conditions
make plans impossible since they are working with nature; Lake Johanna
probably has the greatest limitations - the homes on the south end are
e determining factor since they are buIlt too close to the lake. Mr.
Anklan Informed the Council that a reversal has been made of a previous
decision and they can now accept funds for specific projects.

He stated that the control gate on Lake Josephine Is about I the size of
the one on Lake Johanna; there would be more critical control with the
development.

Red Fox Road (see also Attorney Courtney's Report)
At10rney Courtney stated that he had received a letter from Mr. Anklan
and understood that the County is requesting the 7 foot additional ease-
ment.

Mr. Anklan Informed the Council that the decision will be made by the
Board If the easement acquisition is necessary now; he believes that
some commitment will be requested since It is desirable for the County
to have this easement; but the project will not be figured until at least
1968.

Attorney Courtney stated that If acquisition Is necessary at this time
then condemnation procedures would have to be initiated; but If there

is no Immediate need, he suggested the Council make a commitment to the
Board that It would be acquired one way or another wh~n necessary. He
stated that the cost at a future date might be more, but circumstances
could change and the cost could be less. Mr. Anklan believes this is not
~... critical factor at this time, but is desirable and a firm commitment
~hould .be made at a later date.

Mayor Nethercut thanked Mr. Anklan for appearing at this meeting and for
answering the inqUiries.

BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR

None.

BIDS - LAKE JOHANNA DRAINAGE OUTLET (See also Attorney Courtney's Report)
Engineer Lund Informed the Council that 15 bids had been received for
thls project; members of the Council were given a tabulation of the bids.
(Bids in Village File) Marvin Rehbein Landscaping, Inc. was low bidder
on both the base bid and the alternate. The Council concurred with Engineer
Lund's recommendation that the awarding of the bid be withheld untl further
study and ccnsultatlon with Mr. Lambros before acceptance. Engineer
Lund informed the Council that the bids were close to the estimate
figured by Banister.

-1-
