<br /> . <br /> . <br /> In determining such wage rates the Council has considered the <br /> estimated amount the Village will pay for health insurance and allied insurance <br /> . benefits for such employees during the year 1969, which amount is estimated <br /> at 9 cents per hour. <br /> It is expected that employees in these Departments will do whatever <br /> . work is assigned them by the supervisor, which will undoubtedly mean that .some <br /> work during the day may fall under the category of Heavy Equipment Operator, <br /> other work under the category of Light Equipment Operator, and other work under <br /> the category of Water and Sewer Maintenance. During the time an employee is <br /> performing work within either of the two higher wage categories he shall re- <br /> ceive the wage rate per hour for that category; provided however, in the event <br /> any employee devotes more than 50 percent of his working hours during the <br /> calendar month in one of the two higher categories he shall receive the wage <br /> rate for such higher category for all working time during that calendar month. <br /> C. OVER'rIME'. <br /> The standard work week established by the Personnel Ordinance is <br /> 40 hours, consisting of 8 hours a day five days a week, Monday through Friday, <br /> Any work beyond 8 hours a day, or beyond 40 hours per week, or any work <br /> performed on'regularly-established non-work days, legal holidays or days <br /> observed as lega 1 ho lidays , is hereby defined to be overtime work and the pay <br /> schedule provided herein shall apply to it. A 'Hay" as used herein extends <br /> from midnight to midnight. <br /> Overtime work shall be performed in the event it is ordered or <br /> . directed by a responsible supervisor, and such overtime work shall be con- <br /> sidered mandatory when so ordered except in the case of sickness or unless <br /> . excused by the supervisor. <br /> For overtime work as hereby defined the employee performing the work <br /> shall be paid one and one-half (n) times the regular rate of pay established <br /> therefor. <br /> In the event an employee is put on stand-by alert for Saturdays, <br /> Sundays, or holidays he shall be paid at the rate of time and a half for a <br /> minimum of 4 hours on each such day, and this shall include an employee <br /> assigned to make routine checks on water, sewer and street facilities of the <br /> Village. -2- <br />
