Crepeau that this regular Council <br /> meeting be held on this night (Veterans Day) to transact emergency <br /> business which could not feasibly be handled on another day: seconded <br /> by Councilman E. G. Henderson: motion carried. <br /> ~ttr..t2.'!.l!.Lt2.LI'iL'l'!t!.!!. <br /> Tha mInutes of the Regular Council meeting of October 28. 1968. were <br /> approved as amended. <br /> BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> Mr. Ralph Perry, 3670 New Brighton Road, asked that the Council request <br /> the County Highway Department to mark County RoadE2. west of New <br /> Brighton Road, IndicatIng a Prlght-turn-only" lane for east-bo~nd <br /> Traffic. <br /> It was decided by the Council that the Clerk write t~ the County <br /> Highway Department. requesTing a rlghT-tu~n lane on County Road EZ <br /> as described, and TO also Include The requests of ConTrol,.O,a,Ta. In <br /> their leTtar of November 1" 1968. to make the fOllowing changes on <br /> Lexington Avenue: <br /> 1. I nsta II left-turn lanes at the Intersections of Lex- <br /> ington Ave. and Control Data roads and reduce the <br /> 50 m.p.h. limit to a more moderate rate of speed, thereby <br /> reducing the hazard for left turns and.Blw, tTr ~~_~tL <br /> ~1'rom Control Data roads onto Lexington Avenue. <br /> 2. Install traffic control lights at these intersections to <br /> operate only during rush-hour traffic periods, the rest <br /> of the time could be flashing lIghts. <br /> The Council also requests that the County I nSTa II traffIc conTrol <br /> lights aT The Intersection of Gray Fox Road and Lexington Ave. to <br /> operate during rush-hour traffIc only, to permit orderly egress from <br /> Gray Fox Road onto LexingTon Avenue. <br /> . Clerk was requesTed to write TO the STate Highway Department. asklnQ <br /> that Highway 51 and 694 be upgraded, possibly providing a cloverle~ <br /> inTersecTion wlThHamllne Avenua. to help alleviate the existing <br /> t.rafflc problem which will soon be compounded with the addJtlon of <br /> . over 1,000 employees at Control DaTa, asking also that the Red Fox <br /> Road and Highway 651 InTersecTion be studied aT This time for possible <br /> upgrading, providing a safe access and egress from Red Fox Road TO <br /> Highway 51. <br /> REPORTS <br /> VILLAGE ATTORNEY VINCENT P.
