SupervIsor Everett Beecher, Building Inspector Clay Kelley, <br />Records Clerk Dorothy Zehm <br /> <br />~~[~~~L_~t_~L~~t~! <br />The minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of September 30, 1968 <br />were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />~l~~~~~~~!_~La~_~~q~~!t <br />Mr. Dean Carlson, representing Llv-A-Snaps Inc. requested that Council <br />grant an 8 ft. height variance, permitting the constructIon of a sign <br />as proposed by Midway SIgn Company, for their location on Fernwood <br />Avenue in Arden Hills. This height variance, he said, would help <br />Identify the Llv-A-Snap location, which Is dIfficult to see from <br />either Lexington Avenue or from County Road F. <br /> <br />Council suggested that the two water towers and the Control Data <br />Buildings be used as land marks In describing the location of the <br />L1v-A-Snaps bur Idlng locatIon, stating that Councl I Is reluctant to <br />grant sign hleght variances. <br /> <br />Mr. CaIson presented an alternate variation of the sign which does <br />not require a variance. Council advised Mr, Carlson that this <br />variation would not require Council actIon and the permit may be <br />obtained at the Village office. Mr. Carlson agreed to proceed with <br />the alternate sign, not requiring a variance, <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br />~lq~~[_~L~~~~~_I[~~~t~[ <br />Attorney Courtney advIsed that a letter from the Attorney for Truck <br />Crane Service Company has been received by AdmInIstrative Clerk <br />Lorraine StromquIst, dated October 14, 1968,. requesting that the <br />On and Off Sale Liquor Licenses, held by Truck Crane Service Co., <br />. be transferred, effective November " 1968, to 'kGulre's, Inc. The <br />matter has been referred to Attorney Courtney by Clerk Stromquist. <br />Mr. Courtney requested that the Clerk notify Attorney Richard Meyers <br />to submit all necessary documents to her office before October 28, <br />1968, requestIng that she then refer these documents to him for <br />. review. Clerk was also requested to send a copy of the Liquor Ordi- <br />nance to Attorney Meyers. <br /> <br />~~[L~~L~c_~~~t~~_L~~t~LL~tl~~ - TwIn City IndustrIal Park <br />Attorney Courtney reviewed his letter to the Council, dated October <br />14, 1968 in which he advised the Council of the Ordinance provisions, <br />one of whiCh is the requirement of separate water connections for <br />each buil1ing. He advised that inter-connections, such as has been <br />described in this case, can cause some problems such as no control <br />of the water connection to the second building which could result <br />In a fire hazard to both buildings. <br /> <br />Mr, Courtney suggested that the extra copy of his letter to Council, <br />be forwarded to Roberts Construction Co., requesting that they furnish <br />any additional information they may have regarding this water install- <br />ation. It should be noted also that there has not been a permit <br />Issued by the Village for the sprInkler system to 1230 Gray Fox <br />Road, which Is presently being Installed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />- 1 - <br />
