Honan-Deputy Clerk. <br /> <br />~~~~~~~~_~t_~L~~!~~ <br />The minutes of the regular council meeting of August 26, 1968 were <br />approved as amended. <br /> <br />~~~~_Ic~~~_~~~~_~~~_~~~c~ <br />Clekr Lorraine Stromquist opened and read four bids received for a <br />village dump truck; bidders and bids as follows: <br /> <br />Ron Saxon Ford Co. <br />Polar Chevrolet, Inc. <br />Southview Chevrolet <br />McGee Truck, Inc. <br /> <br />$6,809.00 <br />$5,689.10 <br />$6,147.00 <br />$6,507.00 <br /> <br />CounCilman Crepeau moved, seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst, that <br />the bid be awarded to Southvlew ~hevrolet for the amount of $6,147.00, <br />with delivery within 60 days, subject to approval of Attorney Courtney <br />and Mr. Beecher; motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Beecher reviewed the bids and informed the council that the bids <br />from Polar Chevrolet and Southview Chevrolet did not meet the specl- <br />f Icatlons; therefore, he recommends the award be reconsidered and <br />awarded to the next lowest bidder - McGee Truck, Inc. <br /> <br />After some discussion, Counci Iman Crepeau moved the previous motion be <br />withdrawn, and the bid be awarded to McGee Truck, Inc. for $6,507.00, <br />with delivery withIn 60 days; subject to the approval of Attorney <br />Courtney; seconded by Councilman Hol lenhorst; motion carried, <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Vacation of Portion of Lakevlew Avenue <br />Mayor-SJorndahl-declared-the-hearfng-open;--aiiTthat-the required <br />notice had been published and posted, <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney Informed the audience that this proposed vacation was <br />proceeding under a Minnesota Statute and not under a vii lage ordinance. <br />The council may vacate a street if it determines It to be in the best <br />Interest of the village. The portion of Lakeview Avenue considered <br />for vacation Is from Shoreline Lane to Lake Josephine, and is approx- <br />imately 150 ft on one side and 147 ft on the other side. He stated <br />that according to the opinion of the Attorney General in 1937, the street <br />must be cacated absolutely; therefore, the vi Ilage could not retain a <br />drainage easement on the property, but an easement could be given to <br />the village by the owner after the vacation has been finalized. <br /> <br />Mayor Bjorndahl Informed the Budience that a petition favoring the <br />vacation had been received which lncluced 23 signatures- representing <br />II families. <br /> <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist also informed them that Thos. LaNasa, 3153 <br />Shoreline Lane favored t~e vacation, but was unable to be present. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
