Gray Henderson, <br />and Stanley Olmen. <br />Absent - Mayor Robert BJorndahl and Councilman John Hollenhorst. <br />Also Present - Treasurer Worth G. Read. Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, <br />Engineer Donald Lund, Administrative Clerk lorralne Stromquist, <br />Public Works Supervisor Everett Beecher and Records Clerk <br />Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br />Q.~Q.!:.9.~_!:.!!.'!!:.~'lS.L~!!.!!~!:. <br />Attorney Courtney advised that he wrote to Mr. GeorQe Lawrence on <br />July I, 1968 regarding his operation of the Texaco Station at County <br />Road D and Cleveland Avenue In Arden HI lis, requesting an answer before <br />August 23, 1968. He has had no response. Acting Hayor Crepeau reported <br />that the station Is now closed. Texaco has removed all the old cars <br />and trucks and debris and will keep the property In order. (Only one <br />car remains which wi II be disposed of as soon as this can legally be <br />accomplished.) Attorney was asked to not pursue the matter. <br /> <br />Q.!:.!!.!!.'lQ.sk~_e.!:'Q.2.~rty. <br />Attorney Courtney reported that Mr. Quinn, attorney for Pro Grudnoske. <br />has advised that he wil I work out a satisfactory agreement to be sub- <br />mitted to Arden Hills. The appraisal of the property has been received, <br />appraising the property, Including the Improvements made by the Village <br />at $24,300.00. It was recommended that before a contract Is consumated, <br />the well on the property should be operable. Matter was tabled until <br />meet I n9 of Septembe r 9, 1968. <br /> <br />'!!.~!!'Q.'l~!:.-~!!:.~~L!:!.!.L~9.!:.~~!!!.!!!.! <br />Attorney Courtney advised that the agreement has been sent to Mr. <br />Wagoner. Clerk l. Stromquist was requested to check with Mr. Wagoner <br />on the status of the matter. <br /> <br />~~,!~!:'_~Q.!!.!!.l'l9._~Q.'l!!:.!!.s.! <br />Attorney Courtney advised there was an error In the amount stated In <br />the contract which he has changed from $4,597.00 to $4,829.00, the <br />amount of the bid which was approved by Council on July 29, 1968. <br />The contract has been returned to FlexIble Pipe Tool Company, with <br />this correction. <br /> <br />~!!.l!l~~lll~9.~~~!:.~~~~'l! <br />Attorney Courtney advised that he recommends this agreement, Which <br />provides for a mutual aid pact with several surrounding villages re <br />civil defense, policing, fire etc. He suggested that the Clerk con- <br />sult the Village Insurance carrier to see If Village employees would <br />be covered when working out of the Village. Clerk Stromquist advised <br />that this has been done and she was advised that Village employees <br />would be covered; a copy of the agreement should be sent to the In- <br />surance Company. <br /> <br />Mr. Crepeau advised that the Public Safety Committee also approves <br />the agreement. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman E. Gray Henderson that the agreement, as <br />attached, be approved and properly executed by Acting Hayor Crepeau <br />and Clerk L. Stromquist; a copy to be sent to the Insurance Company: <br />seconded by Councilman Olmen; carried. <br /> <br />- 1 - <br />
