Courtney, Village Engineer <br />Don Lund, Village 8ulldinq Inspector Clay Kelley, Administrative <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist and Deputy Clerk Florence Honan <br /> <br />- <br />. <br /> <br />~~t[~~~i_~i_~l~~l~~ <br />The minutes of the Regular <br />as amended. <br /> <br />Council Meeting of July 8, <br /> <br />1968, were approved <br /> <br />The minutes of the Special Council Meeting of May 23, 1968, regarding <br />Water Improvement No. 68-3 were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />~lLQ.~~!ll!lL=-__Q.~'!'~_!'C~~!:. <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist opened and road the clgtt bids submitted as <br />attached. All bids were for the truck body and equipment; no bIds were <br />received for the truck as the automobile companies are now changing over <br />to the 1969 models and prices are not now avai lable. Attorney Courtney <br />Informed the Counci I that the awarding of the bid can be delayed for only <br />30 days. <br /> <br />Councilman Hol lenhorst moved, seconded by Counci Iman Crepeau, that the <br />bids be referred to the Publ ic Works Committee for recommendation on the <br />awarding of the bids, and, also to ascertain when truck bids will be avail- <br />able; motion carried. <br /> <br />~lLQ.~~r~l!llL=-_~~~~!:..-~2.!!9.ll},LS.9.~l~~~!lt <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist opened and read the one bid submitted. <br /> <br />Counci Iman Dlmen moved approvai of awarding the bid for sewer roddlng equip- <br />ment to Flexible Pipe Tool Company, 4725 Excelsior Blvd., Mlnneapol Is, <br />Minnesota 55416, for the amount of $4,829.00, subject to the approval <br />of Attorney Courtney; seconded by Councilman Crepeau; motion carried. <br /> <br />~~~~l~_~~~~~~a_=-_~~l!~~~_~~~~C_~~[~~~~~~t_~2.~_l~ <br />Mayor Bjorndahl declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br />Enginee,' Don Lund explained this proposed project consists of 560 lineal <br />feet of sewer on County Road E2 at a cost of $5,800.00. The Improvement <br />wll I provide service for the Ramsey County Library now under construction. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney stated this proposed improvement is an <br />as there are only two pieces pf property to be assessed. <br />property will be assessed $1,000; the LIbrary Board will <br />lutlon the balance of $~,30D. <br /> <br />~ttorney Courtney prepared an agreement, whiCh he submitted to Clerk <br />~orraine Stromquist and gave a brief reSume of Its contentS. Mrs. Palmer, <br />Director of the Ramsey County Library Board, was present and Informed <br />. the Counci I that the BOill-d has a meetinq scheduled 'for this Thursday <br />evening. It was decided that If Attorn~y Courtney is unable to contact <br />Mr. Quavle on TU3sday, he wi II forward the agreement to ~~rs. Palmer for <br />the Board's consideration at the Thursday meeting. <br /> <br />unusual situation <br />The Bethel · <br />accept by Reso- <br /> <br />The village had received a letter, dated June 17, 1968 from Bethel College <br />which stated opposition to the assessment as they do not have any plans <br />at this time for developing the property; no representation from Bethel <br />Col lege was present. <br /> <br />There were no fUI'ther comments from the Mayor, Counci I, or audience; <br />therefore, ~1ayor Bjorndahl called the public hearing closed. <br /> <br />Counci Iman Hol lenhorst moved the adoptIon of a Resolution approving the <br />construction of Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 10, authorizing the mayor <br />and clerk to sign the agreement with the Ramsey County Board. approving <br />plans and specifications as prepared and previously submitted by Banister <br />Engineering Co., directed Banister Engineering Co. to prepare bid forms <br /> <br />- 1 - <br />
