<br />. <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, May 13, 1968 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Bjorndahl at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Bjorndahl, Councilmen Crepeau, Olmen, Hollenhorst <br />and Henderson. (Councilman Hollenhorst left at 10:40 p.m.) <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Village Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, Village Engineer <br />Donald Lund, Village Treasurer Worth G. Read and Deputy <br />Clerk Florence Honan. <br /> <br />Approval of MInutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of April 29, 1968 <br />were approved as amended. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Joint Utilities Reauest <br />Worth Read, 3162 North Hamllne Avenue, Informed the Council that <br />Mr. Stenberg, 1415 Glenhlll Road, 15 Interested In purchasing <br />property from him and located to the south of his residence. Mr. <br />Read requested Council permission to allow common sewer and water <br />lines to serve both propertIes. Mr. Read stated that existing <br />lines are of sufficient size for two services. A letter, dated <br />May 10, 1968, received from Mr. Stenberg also requested this <br />consideration from the Council. Councilman Crepeau moved approval <br />of Joint sewer and water lines to service the Read's residence, <br />3162 N. Hamllne Avenue and the property to the south, subject to <br />an extract from the agreement from both parties being filed with <br />the Village; seconded by Councilman Olmen; motion carried. <br /> <br />Proposed Human Rlahts Ordinance <br />Mrs. Hallie Wannamaker, 1484 West Highway 96, represented the <br />Arden Hills League of Women Voters. The League approved the <br />rough draft of the Ordinance and commended the Council for Its <br />quick action. <br /> <br />There was some discussion as to the number of members on this <br />commIssion. The Council decided that six members, with alterna- <br />ting terms, would be sufficient. Mayor Bjorndahl felt that we <br />must have a good working commission, just passing the Ordinance <br />Is not the answer. <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney read the proposed Ordinance with the recommended <br />changes. <br /> <br />I. <br />. <br /> <br />Councilman Crepeau moved approval of the second reading of the <br />Human Rights Ordinance; seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst; motion <br />carried. David M. Irvin, 1200 Ingerson Road, volunteered to be <br />a member of the commission. The League of Women Voters will submit <br />a list of names of prospective members. Mavor B.iorndahl Informed <br />the League that he hes a few names to submit to them. <br /> <br />Archery Ranae Reauest <br />Mr. H. A. Lagerstrom, representing the Arden Hills Sportsman Club, <br />requested per~lsslon to Install an archery range on their property <br />near Lake Johanna. Clerk requested to send Mr. Lagerstrom a copy <br />of the Firearms Ordinance for study. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY COURTNEY <br /> <br />Water Improvement 68-1, Bids Awarded <br />Bids were opened at 11:00 a.m. on May 10, 1968 by the Deputy Clerk <br />and read by Engineer Lund. Twelve bids were received. Attorney <br />Courtney checked the three lowest bids and returned them to Engin- <br />eer Lund. Letter, dated May 13, 1968 from Engineer Hendrickson, <br />recommended the Village accept the lowest bid. Bid tabulations, <br />prepared by Banister Engineering Company, were submitted to the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Councilman Hollenhorst moved the adoption of a Resolution, as <br /> <br />-1- <br />
