<br />, r <br /> <br />.. <br />. <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />.A <br /> <br />~fUV <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />V III age of Arden Hili s <br />Monday, April 29, 1968 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Ca II to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bjorndahl at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present- Mayor BJorndahl, Councilmen Crepeau, Olmen, Hollenhorst and <br />Henderson. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Village Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, Village Engineer <br />Don Lund, Village Treasurer Worth G. Read, Building Inspector <br />Clay Kelley, Village Fiscal Agent Peter Popovich, Administra- <br />tive Clerk Lorraine Stromquist and Deputy Clerk Florence <br />Honan. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The Minutes of the Regular Council meeting of April 8, 1968, were <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Case No. 67-14, Skelly 011 Company <br />Messers Quist, Sundberg and Boyne were present as representatives <br />of Skelly 011 Company. <br /> <br />Mr. Boyne presented copies of the landscape plans lOt" 1he proposed <br />Skelly station at Red Fox Road and LexlnJton Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. Boyne referred to a letter from the Council which requested In- <br />formation regarding the need for a station at this location. He <br />displayed a Village map showing the existing stations. Mr. Boyne <br />stated that the proposed station will serve traffic from,Freeway 694 <br />and Lexington Avenue, and from the Industrial Park and Control Data. <br />He stated that Control Data Indicated a need for service for employees' <br />cars. The construction of this station will not be damaging to com- <br />petition as It wIll draw from different areas. Falcon 011 Company <br />does not service cars. <br /> <br />Mr. Quist Informed the Council that the construction will be Skelly's <br />latest model, with adequate basket weave fencing for screening, wIth <br />one access road from I.sxlngton Ave. and one from Red Fox Road. The <br />a~ea will be completely landscaped and they sill submit a bond <br />guaranteeIng completion of the landscapIng. <br /> <br />Councilman Hollenhorst noted that In the report from Midwest Planning <br />and Research, Inc. suggestions and Inadequacies were mentioned. He <br />also mentioned the Skelly station located less than a mile from the <br />proposed site which Is Intermlttantly closed and opened. <br /> <br />Mr. Boyne stated that they would be happy to work with Midwest <br />Planning regarding the matters In their report. He Informed the <br />Council that the station on County Road E was a location mistake, <br />but this Is not so with the' proposed site because of the freeway <br />location. <br /> <br />Mayor Bjorndahl stated that the discussion had clarified some of <br />the matters, but would like the Council to study the report from <br />Midwest Planning, which was Just received today. <br /> <br />Councilman Hollenhorst stated that buildings unoccupied and/or <br />boarded up result In additional pollee problems, such as break-Ins. <br /> <br />Mr. Boyne informed the Council that vacancies do not occur In prime <br />locations as they have company crews who take over. <br /> <br />Dr. F. Douglas Whiting, 1191 Tiller Lane, expressed his concern <br />regarding the height of the signs and lights for this proposed <br />station. <br /> <br />Mr. Boyne stated that according to the Ordinance the sign Is limited <br />In height, and the lighting Is also governed by Ordinance. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
