<br />Council Minutes - April 29, 1968 - continued <br /> <br />Page six <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN CREPEAU - Public Safety <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Accident Prevention Award <br />Councilman Crepeau reported that Arden Hills will be awarded the <br />1967 Meritorious Achievement Award; Sgt. Sexton will accept this at <br />a banquet on May 14, 1968. <br /> <br />Road SI~ns <br />The Public Safety Committee Is reviewing the road signs In the <br />Village. <br /> <br />Clean-up Campaign <br />Councilman Crepeau requested press coverage on the clean-up campaign, <br />and commended the Public Works Dept. for the excellent job done on <br />cleaning up Village property, <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HENDERSON - Civic Center and Finance <br /> <br />Finance Committee <br />Councilman Henderson Informed the Council that the committee Is <br />anxious to receive the five-year financial plans from the Village <br />committees. Clerk to send a copy of Flsca~ Agent Popovich's Water <br />Study Report to Frank Stanton, Chairman of the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR BJORNDAHL- Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />Proposed Airport Site <br />Mayor Bjorndahl reported on a meeting held on April 15 with represen- <br />tatives from adjoining Villages and the MAC regarding the proposed <br />airport sites, He stated that most of them were much opposed to the <br />Anoka site, but all seemed In agreement that the Ham Lake site was a <br />good location. He believes the television antennae farms proposed <br />for Shorevlew would eliminate plane traffic over this area. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK LORRAINE STROMQUIST <br /> <br />Speed Limits - County Roads <br />Letter, dated April 19, 1968, from Ramsey County Engineer Deane Anklan <br />stated that the speed limit on Stowe Avenue will be studied and <br />action will be delayed regarding the speed limit study for Lexington <br />Avenue near County Road D until they reconstruct that portion of <br />Lexington Avenue to eliminate the curves. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Minnesota Handbook Supplement <br />Referred to Clerk to consult with Individual Council members to <br />determine how many supplements to this handbook are to be ordered) <br />cost of supplement Is $2.00. <br /> <br />DOQ and Sign Ordinance Violations <br />Clerk reported that most of the violators to these two ordinances <br />have compiled) however, there are II businesses who do not have <br />all their signs licensed and about 15 known dog owners who stili <br />have not licensed their dogs. <br /> <br />Councilman Olmen moved that the names of the violators be referred <br />to Village Attorney Courtney for action; seconded by Councilman <br />Hoilenhorst) motion carried. <br /> <br />_Ramsey County Parks <br />Letter, dated April 17, 1968, received from Village Manager Richard <br />Turnlund was read by Clerk Lorraine Stromquist. Attached to this <br />~etter was a Resolution passed by the Rosevllle Council r6Questlng <br />Ramsey County to consider purchase of property west of Rice Street <br />for a golf course. An attached map showed areas in Rosevllle and <br />Shorevlew which would be suitable for an 88 hole golf course. Mr. <br />Turnlund requested consideration from Arden Hills to pass a similar <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Matter referred to the Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />-6- <br />
