' <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Council Minutes - April 8. 1968 - continued <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HENOERSON <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Civic Center Committee MeetlnQ <br />Councilman Henderson reported that the CivIc Center Committee <br />held Its first meeting of this year on April I, 1968. Neither <br />Mayor Bjorndahl nor ex-Mayor Nethercut was able to attend. <br />Planning Commission Chairman Larry Brodie was In attendance. <br />The committee reviewed the studies of the previous committee. <br />The committee would like to have several village maps designating <br />the lOcations of present Village property and proposed acquisi- <br />tions. Councilman Crepeau requested a copy of the same map. <br />Matter referred to Clerk Lorraine Stromquist who will have these <br />available for the next committee meeting on May 9, 1968. The <br />committee will consider these locations and other possibilities. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN OLMEN <br /> <br />Absent - no report. <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR BJORNOAHL <br /> <br />Amble Road <br />Mayor Bjorndahl requested maintenance man Fred Nixon to repair <br />Amble Road as soon as hot mix Is available. <br /> <br />MAC Airport Proposal and Council Resolution <br />Mayor Bjorndahl read a letter, dated March 25, 1968 from Repre- <br />sentative Dick Anderson, which requested the Council take action <br />concerning the airport proposed for the North area. CouncIlman <br />Crepeau moved the adoption of a Resolution to request that hearing <br />regarding said airport be held In a place and at a time convenient <br />to residents of the area affected: a site farther north be con- <br />sidered even though It Is outside the statutory limit of 25 miles <br />radius under control of the MAC: and advise MAC that Arden Hills <br />will support state legislation to amend the statute to provide <br />for representation on the MAC of the area affected by the proposed <br />new airport; seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst: motion carried. <br />~C-o.f'1 ~ ~ <br />dlerk requelted to submit a cop~ of this Resolution to MAC by <br />their next meeting date. which Is April 22, 1968. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation <br />Mayor Bjorndahl Informed the Council that this committee would <br />like to proceed with development of some of the Village recreational <br />areas. The committee Is obtaining plans for study. <br /> <br />1968 Vii laoe Emblem <br />Mayor Bjorndahl requested the Arden Hills Jaycees to check on decals <br />of the emblem, resulting from their contest. They will be used on <br />Village equipment. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CLERK LORRAINE STROMQUIST <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Request for Water - Improvement 67-1 <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist was requested to contact Attorney Courtney <br />and FIscal Agent Popovich to obtain their opinions and recommenda- <br />tions concerning assessIng property owners who have access to the <br />main In this Improvement. <br /> <br />Trustee Hollenhorst moced approval for the property at 1242 Tiller <br />Lane, as requested by Martin Rothmsnner; seconded by Trustee <br />Crepeau: motion carried. <br /> <br />Shorevlew Comprehensive Plan No.3 <br />Clerk Lorraine Stromquist reported a letter, dated April 5, 1968, <br />had been received from the Assistant AdminIstrator from Shorevlew, <br />along with their Comprehensive Plan No.3, as prepared by Midwest <br />Planning and Research, Inc. This report covers plans for boundary <br />areas which Includes Arden Hills; plan referred to the Arden Hills <br />Planning Commission for study. <br /> <br />BI-monthlv Pavment of Claims <br />Clerk reported that she, Mayor Bjorndahl and Treasurer W.
