BJorndahl, Councilmen H. Crepeau, S. Olmen, <br />J. Hollenhorst, E. G. ~enderson. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Treasurer W. Read; Engineers D. Lund, R.. Short, <br />N. Hendrickson; Building Inspector Clay Kelley; Adminis- <br />trative Clerk Lorraine Stromquist; Records Clerk Dorothy <br />Zehm. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of January 29, 1968, were <br />approved as submitted. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br />(Attorney absent due to a death In his family) <br />No report. <br /> <br />REPORT OF BUILDING INSPECTOR CLAY KELLEY <br /> <br />CDndemnatlons <br />Inspector C. Kelley reported that the owners of properties at 3155 Lake <br />Johanna Boulevard and 1624 Lake Johanna Boulevard were sentenced $100.00 <br />each by Justice Barthany on January 24, 1968, after each pleaded guilty <br />to the complaint of maintaining a nuisance In the Village of Arden Hills. <br />The fines were suspended for ninety days at which time the buildings <br />are to be demolished. Clay Kelley to Inspect the properties on April 24, <br />1968. If buildings are not demolished, the defendants are to be brought <br />back to court for the Imposition of the sentence. <br /> <br />Kostohrvz Excavation <br />Mr. Kelley reported that he has a question on which he Is requesting <br />clarification from Attorney Courtney, regarding what Is meant by <br />"Isolated sefl-contalned property," In the Uniform Building Code. This <br />question Is In relation to the excatlon In the rear yard of the Kostohryz <br />property on Snelling Avenue. <br /> <br />Canlf' Residence - Glenvlew Ave. and Glenvlew Ct. <br />Mr. Kelley reported that the exterior of this residence Is now virtually <br />complete. Work Is being done there every day and the owner expects <br />to take occupancy In late spring of 1968. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ENGINEERS DON LUND, ROGER SHORT AND NORM HENDRICKSON <br /> <br />", <br /> <br />Water Improvement 68-1 <br />Engineer N. Hendrickson and Engineer R. Short presented cost estImates <br />for the water system for the southwest area of Arden Hills. Mr. Hen- <br />drickson stated that a feeder line from Connelly Avenue and County Rd.E <br />west along Lake Johanna Boulevard would be advisable and recommended <br />that It be Included In the descrlpt~on of the area to be Included In Water <br />Improvement 68-1. This feeder line would benefit Arden Hills In the event <br />that a failure occurs In Rosevllle lines or tank servicing the south- <br />west area of Arden ~llls. Arden Hills would then be able to serve <br />this southwest area from the east side of the Village. The estimated <br />cost of the entire water system for 68-1 Is $647,000.00, Including the <br />feeder line from Connelly Ave. The feeder line alone Is estimated to <br />cost $113,000.00. Mr. Short advised the Council to consult with <br />Attorney Courtney and Peterson and Popovich regarding the possibility <br />of dropping the feeder line portion from the description If this Is the <br />desire of the Council. <br /> <br />The Council approved Inlcudlng the feeder line In the description of <br />Improvement 68-1 to be submitted to Peterson and Popovich by BanIster <br />Engineering Co. Norm Hendrickson to submit a corrected map to Clerk <br />Stromquist and the description of the area to be Included In Improve- <br />ment 68-1. <br /> <br />It was noted that persons along the feeder line would be able to hook up <br />to water If they desire, and every property owner along the feeder line <br />would be automatically assessed, It this area Is Included In the Im- <br />provement description. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
