<br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, January 29, 1968 - 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Bjorndahl called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present - Mayor Bjorndahl, Councilmen Crepeau, Olmen and <br />Hollenhorst. <br />Absent - Councilman Henderson. <br />Also Present - Village Attorney Vincent P. Courtney, Engineer <br />Donald Lun~, Engineer Norman Hendrickson, Treasurer <br />Worth G. Read, Administrative Clerk Lorraine Strom- <br />quist and Accounting Clerk Charlotte McNlesh. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of December 26, 1967, January 4, 1968 and January a, <br />1968 were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />SQUAD CAR BIDS <br />One bid was received from Ron Saxon Ford for a 1968 Ford <br />station wagon. The bid was $3979.50 less $700.53 trade-In of <br />!966 Ford wagon, for a net cost of $3,279.00. Councilman <br />Crepeau moved acceptance of the bid subject to perusal of Attorney <br />Courtney, seconded by Councilman Holienhorst: motion carried. <br />Attorney Courtney will prepare contract for purchase. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />Donald Gode, Chairman of the Community Improvement Committee, <br />reported that Joe McKeon, 1871 County Road D, had complained <br />about unsightly premises at the Texaco station located at 3130 <br />Cleveland Avenue. Matter referred to the Public Safety CommIttee. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ATTORNeY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br /> <br />Water Contract <br />Attorney Courtney summarized his letter to the Council dated <br />January 29, 1968, regarding Arden Hills - Rosevllle Contract - <br />Proposed Second Rider by St. Paul. Trustee Crepeau moved that <br />Attorney Courtney and the Water Sub-committee continue to arbi- <br />trate and negotiate the contract, seconded by Trustee Hollenhorst, <br />carried. <br /> <br />-~.... <br /> <br />Water Improvement 67-1 - Control Data Tower Location <br />Attorney Courtney reviewed his letter of January 19, 1968. <br />Engineer Hendrickson discussed the function and cost of shut-off <br />. valves referred to In Control Data's letter of January 10, 1968. 5 <br />Councilman Hollenhorst moved: e.O.""" b1A <br />I. Approval of the Installation of the two shup-oft..-' >r-' <br />valves requested by Control Data. Cost to be Included <br />In 67-1 water project. <br />2. Purchase of .51 acres from Control Data for $950.00 <br />to accomodate a 500,000 gallon elevated water tank. <br />3. Approval of the resolution as attached relating to the <br />dedication of 150 feet of Fernwood Avenue for road and <br />public utility purposes. <br />Seconded by Councilman Crepeau, carried. <br /> <br />Amendment to Vllluqa Personnel OrdlaEnce <br />Councilman Crepeau moved Introduction by title of "An Ordinance <br />Amending Ordinance No. 83, Regarding Personnel Administration, <br />to Permit Discretl~nary Sick Leave and Payment of Health Insurance <br />Benefits". Seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst, carried. <br /> <br />REPORT OF ENGINEERS LUND AND HENDRICKSON <br /> <br />Water Improvement 67-1 <br />Engineer Hendrickson reported that all lines have been tested, <br />and advised that no water connections, except sprinkler systems, <br />be permitted north of Red Fox Road until the booster station <br />and elevated tank have been Installed. <br /> <br />Elevated Water Tanks <br />Engineer Hendrickson reported on three styles of elevated water <br />tanks ranging In price from $110,000 to $135,000. Matter re- <br />ferred to Water Study Sub-committee and Planning Commission. <br />-1- <br />
