The <br />Council requested Banister Engineering to furnish cost estimates <br />for each of the five areas at the meeting of February 12, 1968. <br /> <br />Councilman Crepeau moved that Banister Engineering be authorized <br />to prepare plans and specIfications for area 3, located In the <br />southwest corner of the Village, Attorney Courtney to prepare <br />the necessary resolution, Clerk Stromquist to set up the date <br />for a Public Hearing In late March for this proposed Water <br />improvement No. 68-1. Seconded by Councilman Olmen, carried. <br /> <br />lake Johanna Outlet <br />Engineer lund discussed his letter 01 January IS, 1968 relating <br />to the dralnageway between Lake Johanna and long lake. Arden <br />Hills, Rosevllle, Shorevlew, New Brighton, Ramsey County and the <br />Minnesota Highway Department con7rlbute storm waters to the <br />dralnageway. Councilman Hollenhorst moved preliminary approval <br />of the feasibility report authorizIng $3,750 as Arden Hili's <br />$hare In the report costs. Seconded by Councilman Crepeau, carried. <br /> <br />Sewer Meter Reactivation <br />Engineer Lund reported that a constant source of flushing water <br />Is essential to efficient operation of the sewer meters, and <br />discussed possible solutIons to the problem. Meters ere to be <br />reactivated by April I, 1968. <br /> <br />Llqhtlng of Intersection of Highway 35W and County Road .. <br />CounCilman Crepeau moved that approval of State Highway plans for <br />lighting this Intersection be held In abeyance until the lighting <br />of the Intersection of County Road E and Highway 51 are turned on, <br />Seconded by Councilman Olmen, carried. <br /> <br />LI ft Stations <br />Engineer Lund reported on recenttal8ures of two 11ft stations; <br />check valves are being repaired at both iocations. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HOLLENHORST <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />St. Paul Bible Coli.ge and ColleQe Development Cor,oratlon <br />Proposal - Case 67-27 modified. <br />Councilman Hollenhorst reported that on January 22, 1968, the <br />Planning Commission reviewed the applIcation by the College <br />Development Corporation to construct an apartment project <br />adjacent to the St. Paul Bible College including all amendments <br />to date. The Commission feels that the proposal does not meet <br />the requIrements of the Arden Hills Housing Polley and therefore <br />recommends denial of the request but suggests that St. Paul <br />BIble College further modify the proposal aiong the guideline <br />set forth In the CommissIon minutes of January 22, 1968, and <br />re-submit the request. <br /> <br />These guidelines would Include ownership of the land by the <br />college thereby alleviating some of the objections Including <br />the density problem. <br /> <br />Accordingly, I move that request 67-27, as amended and modified, <br />be denied and that the normal waiting period for re-applylng <br />be waived. Seconded by Councilman Olmen, motion carried. <br /> <br />Housing Poll~ <br />Councilman Holienhorst reported that a sUb-committee of the <br />Planning Commission has been appointed to study the Arden Hills <br />Housing Policy In order to recommend possible revisions. <br /> <br />Accordingly, any new applications for multiple housing may <br />be delayed pending this report. This delay would not apply <br />TO the re-submittal by St. Paul Bible College. <br />
