Councilman Crepeau moved that <br />Mr. Lambros be granted a four-foot side yard variance and be <br />allowed to build a boathouse with 15 feet of frontage on Lake <br />Johanna. Seconded by Trustee Olman, carried. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN CREPEAU <br /> <br />rlre Protection Contract <br />Councilman Crepeau moved approval of the 1968 Fire Protection <br />Contract with the Lake Johanna Fire Department, Inc. subject to <br />Attorney Courtney's recommendations. Seconded by Councilman <br />Hollenhorst, carried. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN OLMEN <br /> <br />Minutes of the PublIc Works Committee Meeting of January 17, 1968 <br />were revlowed. After som'e discussion, Table B rates were modified <br />as follows: <br />I. Vehicle #5, rate $8.00 per hour. <br />2. Vehicle #12, added, rate $4.00 per hour. <br />3. Foo-i-no1"e, mileage rate, 251t per mile; limited to $4.00 <br />per day. <br /> <br />Councilman Olmen moved adoption of Tabl. B rates as modified <br />retroactive to November I, 1967. Seconded by Councilman Crepeau, <br />can"led. <br /> <br />Mayor Bjorndahl stated that a Joint meeting of the Council and <br />the Public Works Committee should be scheduled, preferably In <br />early February. Admln!stratlve Clerk Stromquist was requested <br />to schedule the meeting. <br /> <br />Maintenance Foreman Fred Nixon commented on equipment rental <br />rates end salaries of maintenance personnel. <br /> <br />Councilman Olmen reported on the PublIc Works Committee recom- <br />mendation for purchase of a van-type vehicle, primarily for use <br />In conjunction with water utility activIties. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the advisability of acquiring a multi- <br />purpose vehlc!e, desirability of four-wheel drive and removable <br />van-type enclosure. Matter referred to Public Works CommIttee <br />for further evaluation and cost estimates. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilman Olmen moved that the status of R. Wayne Brunette <br />be changed from regular part-time to regular full-time employee. <br />Seconded by Councilman Hollenhor5t, carried. <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR BJORNDAHL <br /> <br />Ramsey County League of Munlclpalltlo5 Meeting of January 7, 1968 <br />Mayor Bjorndahl reported that at this meeting a County-wide <br />Parl< Planning Committee was rec~mmended, each municipality to <br />have one representative. Each ~mmunlty Is to furnish a map <br />showing exfstlng park and recreational facilities; these will <br />be compiled Into a composite map of all facilIties In Ramsey <br />County. Kenneth 8055 will represent Arden Hills at the first <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Bjorndahl also reported that Councilman John Hotlenhorst <br />has been elected to serve on"the board of the Ramsoy County <br />league of Municipalities for three years. <br /> <br />-:;- <br />
