The caliper inches of nuisance and <br />diseased trees were also not included in the mitigation requirements. <br /> <br />Tree Survey Information <br />The site plans include building an apartment complex, two new parking lots, and a stormwater <br />pond (Figure 3). The estimated caliper inches of all significant trees proposed to be impacted is <br />3,702 inches. Table 3 shows these significant trees' size, species, and location in XY coordinates. <br />The total estimated caliper inches of all significant trees on site is 21,982 inches. The total <br />percentage of proposed impacted significant trees is 16.8%. Mitigation is not necessary if fewer <br />than 10% of the caliper inches of the significant trees on the property are cut, removed, or killed <br />(subd. 5.A.1. City of Arden Hills; Tree Preservation Ordinance). The impacted caliper inches <br />above 10% of the total caliper inches need to be mitigated. Trees must be mitigated at a rate of <br />1:2, or one caliper inch of tree replaced for every 2 caliper inches of tree removed. This project <br />will require a replacement plan for 752 caliper inches of trees (Table 1). <br /> <br />Table 1.
