Minutes of Regular Council Meeting November 30, 1970 <br /> Clerk Administrator Stromquist was requested to dellver a copy of <br /> the agreement to New Brighton and to Attorney Copeland, to expedite <br /> its approval by New Brighton. <br /> Zoning Ordinance Amendment <br /> Attorney Courtney was requested to prepare the Zoning Ordinance <br /> amendment In finai form for Counc II action on Dec. 14, 1970. <br /> REPORT OF ENGINEER DONALD lUND <br /> Preliminary Studies - Charge Procedure <br /> Engineer Lund reviewed his letter of Nov. 6, 1970 suggesting various <br /> ways that costs of preparation of preliminary reports could posstbly <br /> be charged against properties; stating that he sent a copy of his <br /> letter to Attorney Courtney for consideration. <br /> Trunk Highway Turnback <br /> After review of Engineer lund's letter of Nov. 6, 1970, it was moved <br /> by Councilman Hol ~enhorst and seconded by Counellman Herrick that <br /> Council approve the turnback of Cleveland Ave. from the State to the <br /> County, as outjlned. Motion passed unanimously, <br /> Snelling Avenue Reconstruction <br /> Engineer Lund explained the proposed reconstruction of Snelling Ave. <br /> from Arden Place north to Highway 10, by Ramsey County. <br /> Public Works Chairman Roger Reiling advised the Council that the <br /> Public Works Committee recommends the reconstruction as soon as possible. <br /> Recommendations from the Piannlng Commission were requested for Councl I <br /> consideration. Engineer Lund stated that his office Is not recommending <br /> the reconstruction at this time, merely explaining the proposal. <br /> The Council withheld action until the Planning Commission recommenda- <br /> tions are submitted. <br /> Mas'ter Meters <br /> Engineer Lund reviewed a letter from Rosewll I~ dated Nov. 12, 1970~ <br /> regarding the master meters between Rosevllle and Arden Hills; advising <br /> the Council that the Metro Sewer Board will take them over on Jan. I , <br /> 1971. <br /> Lak~shorePjace - Altern.te Sewer Line Proposal <br /> Engineer Lund explained that a one-lot low area could best be served <br /> by an alternate sewer n ne to the rear of the propert I es a long Lakeshore <br /> Place; staTing that the lot can adequately be served by the present <br /> sewer II ne I f the lat Is fllled to The grade of adJaeent lots. No <br /> action was Taken by the Council. <br /> State Aid Street Report <br /> Engineer Lund advised the Council that Chairman Roger Reiling has <br /> advised him that the Public Works Committee has recommended approval <br /> of the STate Aid Street System Plan (Revised Sept. 1970) . <br /> If was moved by Councilman Hollenhorst and seconded by CounCilman <br /> Herr1ck that the Council adopt the resolution (attached) adoJtlng <br /> the State Aid Street SYSTem; motion carried unanimously. <br /> Engineer Lurid was requested to prepare the resolution In final form, <br /> . as adopted. <br /> REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER WORTH G. READ <br /> Treasurer Worth Read orally reviewed the Village Investments and <br /> expenditures over the past month; advising the Counc!"1 that Interest <br /> rates have dropped noticeably. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOLLENHORST - Planning & Zoning <br /> e Chairman Larry McGough presented the Planning Commission report: <br /> -2- <br />
