Minutes of Regular Council Meeting October 26, 1970 <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRICK - Parks and Recreation & Human Rights <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee Report - Or, Robart BJorndahl <br /> I. Charles Perry Park - The Parks and Recreation Committee Is dis- <br /> appointed In the appearance of the "fill" portion of Charles Perry <br /> Park, and Contractor Schutz has been notified to bring the area up <br /> to "agreed-upon" standards. Dr. Bjorndahl stated that a "cat" was <br /> operating there on Thursday and Friday, but was not there today. <br /> He requested that the contractor be given another chance to comply <br /> with his contract, before instigating any legal action. <br /> Mayor Crepeau advised Dr. Bjorndahl that many complaints have been <br /> received. <br /> To alleviate the dumping problem, the cable Is to be re-Installed <br /> and locked, to block the entrance. Only the contractor, Dick Schutz, <br /> and Maintenance Supervisor Beecher are to have keys. <br /> 2. Ingerson Park - The basement structure at Ingerson Park Is recom- <br /> mended to be caved-in and filled, Dr. Bjorndahl requested that any <br /> excess fill be used for this purpose. Maintenance Supervisor Beecher <br /> advised that some fill was dumped there today. <br /> 3. Valentine Park - Dr. Bjorndahl advised that if grading of the <br /> park can be accomplished in the next week or two, the Parks and <br /> Recreation Committee recommends that *oddlng of certain areas be <br /> done this fall; recommending that Glen Beggin stake the areas for <br /> sodding, Johnny Schultz grade the park and W. and G. Rehbein do the <br /> SOdding. <br /> 4. Skating Rinks - Dr, Bjorndahl advised that the Parks and Recreation <br /> Committee recommends that a part-tIme employee be hired to flood and <br /> clean rinks; that he be a person responsible for the operation of fire <br /> hyd rants (possibly a volunteer fireman); that he be available to work <br /> from 9:00 p.m, to l i : 00 p. m , <br /> Councilman HerriCk requested that no action be taken re rink employees <br /> until a I ater meet i ng, after he has talked with the Blue Line Club and <br /> Mr. Wegleltoer. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN E. GRAY HENDERSON - Finance & Municipal Land and <br /> Buildings <br /> Nazareth Hall Sewer Bi Illng Adjustment Request <br /> Councilman Henderson advised that a request for a sewer rental rebate <br /> has been received from the St. Paul Diocese for Nazareth Hal" after <br /> a re-evaluatlon of the property was made by the County Assessor's <br /> office. <br /> After discussion, It was determined that the sewer billing be sent <br /> as computed; Councilman Henderson was requested to Investigate the <br /> request and determine the basis for revision, as requested. <br /> Rosevllie State Bank - OffIcial Utility Fund Depository <br /> Councilman Henderson moved adoption of the attached Resolution, ap- <br /> pointing Rosevllle State Bank as the Official Village Depository for <br /> Utility Funds, requiring remittance on a weekly basis, of all funds <br /> In excess of $2,000.; seconded by Councilman Herrick; motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STANLEY OLMEN - Public Works <br /> None. <br /> . REPORT OF MAYOR HENRY J. CREPEAU, JR. - General Government & Public Safety <br /> Highway No, 10 Service Road <br /> Mayor Crepeau reviewed a letter from the Minnesota Highway Department <br /> dated Oct. 13, 1970, re the service road on Highway 10, north of Highway <br /> 96. <br /> # <br /> -3v. <br />
