<br /> . <br /> .- Minutes of Reguiar Council Meeting September 28, 1970 <br /> After discussion, Counci Iman Henderson moved adoption of the~""'o" .""i <br /> ) <br /> budget and tax Jevy, as per attached resoiutlon~ as recommen ed <br /> by the Finance Committee; seconded by Councilman Oimen; motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> Bond Sale Calendar <br /> Pending receipt of addltlona! detailed computations f rom the <br /> VlI~age Administrative Office, Fiscal Agent Peter Popovich <br /> advised that the bond sale calendar be delayed unt i I Oct. 12, <br /> 1970. <br /> Maintenance of Bouijevard Trees <br /> After reporting that a dstermi nation from the Public Works <br /> Committee has not been submitted, Counci Iman Olmen stated his <br /> opinion is that the adjacent property owner should maintain <br /> bou leva rd trees, not the Village; assessing the property owner <br /> for maintenance If the property owner fails to comply. <br /> I t ~Ias moved by Councilman Hollenhorst that the matter be <br /> referred to Attorney Courtney to determine how to enforce the <br /> maintenance of boulevard trees by the property owners; motion <br /> was seconded by Councilman Olmeo and carried unanimously. <br /> Use 0" Sand & Salt on Vil!aqe Streets <br /> Councilman Olmen advised that the Public Works Committee has <br /> determined that salt must be mixed with sand to properly control <br /> icy conditions on Village streets. <br /> Public Works Building Addition <br /> CouncilmanOlmen estimated that a 40' x 75' addition wi II <br /> probably be needed In order to house ail equipment under one <br /> roof. He said he has not received a recommendation from the <br /> Public Works Committee and will schedule a special meet I ng i n <br /> an effort to determine the recommended size before the Council <br /> meeting of Oct. 12, 1970. <br /> Clerk Administrator Stromquist was asked to request Attorney <br /> Courtney's opinion of advertising for bids for design and <br /> construction by the same bidder. <br /> Monthlv Budqet Request <br /> Councilman Olmen requested that MaIntenance Sup~rvlsor Beecher <br /> be added to the list of those receiving copies of the monthly <br /> budget report. <br /> REPORT OF MAYOR HENRY J. CREPEAU, JR. - General Government & <br /> Public Safety <br /> Public Safety Procedure & ResDonsibi lltles <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herrick and seconded by Councilman <br /> Hollenhorst that the proposal regulating Public Safety procedures <br /> and responsibilities be approved as attached. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Squad Car - Advertisement for Bids <br /> Mayor Crepeau requested authorization for Arden Hills to join <br /> St. Paul and other villages In advel-tlsing for bids for squad <br /> cars; thereby enabling the Village to possibly obtain a squad <br /> car at a reduced cost. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herrick that the authorization be <br /> granted, as proposed; should the bids prove unsatisfactory, <br /> bids be requested from at least 3 Fo rd dealers. Motion was <br /> seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst and carried unanimously. <br /> Metro Area LeQlslatlve MeetlnQ <br /> . Mayor Crepeau requested representation at the Oct.
