Clerk <br /> Administrator Stromquist was requested to make copies for the <br /> Council members.) <br /> State Aid Street System <br /> Engineer Lund discussed his letter of Sept. 22, 1970 re suggested <br /> street changes recommended by District State Aid Engineer, John <br /> Bergford. <br /> The letter and accompanying map were referred to the Public Works <br /> Committee; requesting that the Committee meet with Engineer Lund <br /> and cooperatively prepare their recommendations to the Council. <br /> Northern Contractlnq Co. - Estimate 6 <br /> Engineer Lund presented Northern Contracting Company's Estimate <br /> 6, in the amount of $32,875.64, for approval of payment. (See <br /> Claims - Report of Clerk Administrator.) <br /> ProQress Report - San. Sewer Imp. 12-13 <br /> Engineer Lund reported that 11ft station parts, lost during the <br /> strike in Chicago, have been re-ordered and are expected by <br /> mid-October. Operation of the system is necessarily delayed until <br /> these parts arrive. <br /> ProQress Report - AI I Current Improvements <br /> Mayor Crepeau requested a progress report on the other Improvement <br /> projects. Engineer Hendrickson advised that completion schedules <br /> are slow compared to the Engineer's expectations, but clean-up <br /> Is in progress and where completed, "looks good". <br /> REPORT OF TREASURER WORTH G. READ <br /> A brief oral report re current anticipated Interest rates was <br /> given by Treasurer Worth G. Read. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCilMAN JOHN HOLLENHORST - Planning and Zoning <br /> None. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCiLMAN RONALD HERRICK - Parks & Recreation and Human <br /> Rights <br /> Valentine Park - PlantlnQ Proposal <br /> Councilman Herrick advised that 6 bids have been received for <br /> tree planting In Valentine Park; tho Rose Hili Nursery bid, in <br /> the amount of $1,297, is recommended by the Parks and Recreation <br /> Committee for Council approval. <br /> Councilman Herrick explained that the proposed planting Is a <br /> part of the total concept plan and a budgeted item, a nd moved <br /> Council approval, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation <br /> Committee, subject to approval by the Planning Commission. The <br /> motion was seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. (4 voting <br /> In favor of the motion and I in opposition - Hollenhorst.) <br /> Phillip Sampson - Plaque Proposal <br /> Councilman Herrick read the proposed Inscription for a com- <br /> memorative plaque, In honor of Mrs. Phillip Sampson, to be <br /> located In the park recently donated to Arden Hills by Mr. <br /> Sampson. <br /> Councilman Herrick moved approval of the plaque, as proposed; <br /> seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst; carried unanimously. <br /> REPORT OF COUNCILMAN E. GRAY HENDERSON - Finance & Municipal Land <br /> . and Buildings <br /> 1971 Proposed Budget and Tax Levy <br /> .
