<br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />September 14, 1970 <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STANLEY OLMEN - Public Works <br /> <br />American Waterwo~ks Conference at Duluth <br />Councilman Olmen moved that Public Works Supervisor Everett <br />Beecher be authorized to attend the American Waterworks Conference <br />at Duluth, September 30 through October 2, 1970; seconded by <br />Councilman Hollenhorst; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Beecher was requested to prepare a report of the Conference, <br />for Council review. (He was asked to provide Clerk Administrator <br />with an application for registration.) <br /> <br />REPORT OF MAYOR HENRY J. CREPEAU, JR. - General Government and <br />Public Safety <br /> <br />United Nations Day <br />Mayor Crepeau read a proclamation, designating October 24, 1970, <br />as United Nations Day in Arden Hills; the 25th Anniversary of <br />the United Nations. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Engineer - Letter Re Snowplowing <br />Mayor Crepeau advised that Arden Hi I Is will utilize Its own <br />department for snowplowing for another year and asked Clerk <br />Administrator to so notify Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department - Fund Request <br />Mayor Crepeau read a letter from Mr. l. F. Nesler, lake Johanna <br />Volunteer Fire Department, requesting tHat Arden Hills pay 33.9% <br />of the cost of a new grass-fire rig; Arden Hills' share of cost <br />Is $2,373.00. <br /> <br />Councilman Hollenhorst moved that the Council authorize the pay- <br />ment of $2,373.00, as requested; seconded by Councilman Henderson <br />and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Sale and Storaoe of Explosives - Model Ordinance <br />Mayor Crepeau advised that a model o~dinance governing the sale <br />and storage of explosives has been received for consideration <br />by Arden Hills. The ordinance was referred to Attorney Courtney <br />for review and a feasibility report. <br /> <br />Doo Control Proposal - Public Safety Committee <br />Mayor C~epeau advIsed that the Public Safety Committee has <br />recommended a Dog Control Proposal, providing for a regular <br />patrol of the Village and 24-hour "on call" service; providing <br />for all animal pIck-up (except skunks). <br /> <br />The contract agreement was referred to Attorney Courtney for <br />hIs opinion. <br /> <br />Personnei Ordinance - Holldav Section <br />Mayor Crepeau advised that the Ordinance Review Committee has <br />submitted its findings re the holiday portion of the Federal <br />Holiday Schedule. Copies were distributed to the Council for <br />review. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR LORRAINE STROMQUIST <br /> <br />, <br />~ <br /> <br />Arden HII Is Branch library - Request for Waiver of Fee <br />Clerk Administrator advised that the Ramsey County Library Board <br />has requested that the sign permit and annuat license fee be <br />waIved for Its sign at the Arden Hills Branch library. <br /> <br />Councilman Henderson moved that the $5.00 permit fee and the <br />annual $5.00 license fee be waived, as requested; seconded by <br />Councilman Herrick and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />-6- <br />
