<br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regu~ar Counci I Meeting <br /> <br />-4-. <br /> <br />June 29, ~970 <br /> <br />Minnesota Highway Department Pians - Highway 51 <br />It was moved by Councilman John Ho!lenhorst that the Councl! concur <br />with the recommendation of the Planning Commission to reject the <br />layout plans submitted by the Minnesota Highway Department for <br />Highway 51; seconded by Councilman Ronald Herrick; motion carried <br />unanimousiy. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Lorraine Stromquist was requested to notify <br />Senator Robert Ashbach and Representative Richard (Dick) Andersen <br />of the Council's action and request their assistance in future <br />negotiations re plans for Highway 51 through Arden Hills. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCiLMAN JOHN HOLLENHORST - Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />After review of the RESOLUTiON APPROVING SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO <br />MiNNEOSTA BAPTIST C0Nf[RENCE TO CONSTRUCT AND MA6NTAIN A HEAD- <br />QUARTERS BU!LDING AT COUNTY ROAD E2 ADJACENT TO AND ON THE EAST <br />OF THE RAMSEY COUNTY LiBRARY, ARDEN HILLS BRANCH (attached). IT <br />was moved by Counci Iman John Ho! lenhorst and seconded by Counc'Iman <br />Stanley Oimen, that the resolution be adopted; motion carried <br />unanimously. A copy of the resolution was given to representatives <br />of Minnesota Baptist Conference. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRICK - Parks and Recreation and <br />Human RI ghi"s <br /> <br />Perry Park l~ovement - Pro~ress Report <br />Councilman Herrick advised the Councl I that filling of a portion <br />of the park area is progressing as scheduled; the contractor Is <br />covering the tll~ on a daily basis. <br /> <br />BUrnl?~ of Village Buildin~ - 3255 North LeXington Avenue <br />Councl man Herrick reported that the Lake Johanna Volunt~er Fire <br />Department burned the house at 3255 No~th LexIngton Avenue and <br />he commended the department on the tine job. Clerk Administrator <br />Lorraine Stromquist was requested to write a "thank you" letter <br />to Fire Chief Harry Ehlers, Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department. <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission- Request for Names of Potentlat Naw <br />Members <br />COUncilman Herr'lek advised the Coune!! that names of potentia! <br />members of the Human Rights Commission are requested and suqgests~ <br />that the newspapers give the matter publicity. <br /> <br />Violations Pending <br />Councilman"Ronald herrick cited severaivio~atlons which are pending: <br /> <br />a. Lean-to at Arden Automa1-i c - a temporary winter she iter. <br />b. Horses - south of County Road E <br />c. Tra! lers and junk cars - Dynacast property <br />d. Fill and dumping areas - to ~hat extent nro these permitted? <br /> <br />The Council requested that a report on these v'o~atlons be submitted <br />to the Council at t~e next meeting by Bul eding Inspector Ciay <br />Ke! ley st<lting tboactlon taken to date. <br /> <br />They also asked that a progress report be submitted by Mr. Kel ley, <br />lIsting a!~ existing permits for such activities, to what point <br />each has been done, and the extent of fi It, grading or whatever, <br />that the permit allows. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Oftlce Hours Extended <br />The Council requestei that hours be staggered for office personnel <br />on Mondays, TUGS days and Thursdays. providing additional office <br />hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN E. GRAY HENDERSON - Finance and Munlclpa~ Lands <br />and Bui Iding <br /> <br />Councilman Henderson reported that the Final Audit tor [969 accounts <br />has baen recoived.
