17- <br />1972 <br />Parks and Recreation Commit*ee Minutes : January <br />Herrick reported that the Parks and Recreation budget <br />for 1972 is $68 , 000 ; $35 , 000 is already committed to Perry Park <br />development. <br />Perry Park Warming House - Banister Engineering has <br />inspected the facility and found many unsatisfactory conditions <br />including heaters and thermostats that didn ' t work and toilets <br />put in wrong . There is also a faulty hydrant that will have to <br />be replaced in the spring . Water now has to come from New <br />Brighton Road . <br />G. Beggin reported that the hockey rink at Perry Park <br />was in operation , but the warming house was not open because <br />Banister Engineering had not inspected it as yet . <br />There have been complaints from the new owner of the <br />property adjacent to the Perry Park soccer and football field . <br />Owner feels that due to location of goal posts he will have balls <br />in his yard . <br />February <br />There is a broken water main still at Perry Park , but <br />the warming house is now in use . <br />The Committee discussed planting Lombardy Poplars <br />behind the goal posts in Perry Park , which is near a residence , <br />in order to keep balls out of private property . P. Lindquist <br />was requested to get a bid on trees to cover approximately 200 <br />feet with a solid cover. She should also check ordinance on <br />planting this type of tree .
