3- <br />October <br />The Arden Hills Jaycees have painted the warming <br />house at Valentine Park . <br />1968 <br />Parks and Recreation Committee Minutes : November <br />Valentine rink is being leveled . It was suggested <br />we do something to beautify this area , but it was decided it <br />would be advisable to wait until the water is put in before <br />attempting any plantings , etc . <br />1970 <br />Parks and Recreation Committee Minutes : May <br />Peter Jacobson discussed the plantings for Valentine <br />Park ; native deciduous shade trees were chosen for ease of <br />planting and chance of survival in the limited space . It was <br />suggested that green ash be substituted for the fine red oak <br />on the plan . <br />Thor Lyford discussed the ballfield at Valentine and <br />program of Little Lakes Little League ; and the availability and <br />conditions of ballfields in the area . He expressed concern <br />in regard to parking space allotted on the plan , drainage <br />problems and safety at the park . <br />Motion passed that we ask the Council to provide <br />gravel for the Little Lakes Little League to trench the site . <br />They will provide the labor and ecuioment . The Chairman asked <br />Mr. Lyford to give the Committee the number of Arden Hills <br />boys participating in the various age groups of the program.
