2- <br />2 . Petition ( 8/ 14/75 ) submitted by Round Lake residents <br />containing approximately 33 signatures , re land-use sug- <br />gestions for the Round Lake area . <br />3. Former Preliminary Plat proposal , submitted by Joe <br />Bussard with Case No . 70-23. <br />4. Existing land use in Arden Hills , as well as review of <br />andproposed existing land use along the Shoreview/Arden <br />Hills boundaries , described by Shoreview Planner Francis <br />Chichester. <br />August <br />Mr. Ken Simon explained that Ramsey County Open Space <br />has re-evaluated the Round Lake land acquisition proposal , since <br />the public hearings , and while the boundaries and acreage remain <br />the same , the concept is changed . Simon proposed that a I5-yearAll <br />moratorium on public use be placed on this land , after which time <br />the situation would be re-evaluated . He explained that it is the <br />desire of Ramsey County Open Space to acquire the land for open <br />space and resource preservation purposes , and prevent its being <br />developed ; desire to support U. S . Fish and Wildlife Service pro- <br />gram at Round Lake. <br />Concern was expressed by resident that an excessive <br />amount of "open space" is being acquired in Arden Hills , probably <br />more than Village tax base can stand , especially since Ramsey <br />County is also seeking to acquire an additional 600-700 acres in <br />the Arsenal grounds , if and when that property is released by <br />the Federal Government. <br />After discussion , Crichton stated he was prepared to <br />II
