4- <br />very lengthy discussion of Committee ' s views , other issues were <br />410 <br />also discussed such as : <br />What is County ' s real reason for wanting land - more <br />recreation than education? <br />2 . What controls would Village have? <br />3. What policing problems would result? <br />4. Why is Open Space so anxious to acquire property? <br />5. What would really happen to wild life in this area if <br />guided tours etc . were to take place? <br />6. Was land around lake suitable for walking trail ? <br />The Committee feels the County should make clear its <br />intention for this and follow up from there . There will have to <br />be a satisfactory compromise brought forth to protect wild life <br />and area . The Committee has a real responsibility to protect <br />every area of Village and to be sensitive to this type of area , <br />to help preserve it. <br />A motion was made by C. Grudnoske , seconded by G . <br />Beggin , to request Council to deny Ramsey County Open Space an <br />area of 55 acres on the south end of Round Lake. Vote was 2 for , <br />3 against , I abstained . Motion did not carry . <br />A motion was made by J . McTavish , seconded by R. <br />CadwelI , to send the attached list of concerns to Council for <br />their comments . Motion carried unanimously . <br />August <br />Concerning the Round Lake area , J . McTavish reported <br />that the Planning Commission would like an opinion from the <br />Village Attorney as to whether we , as a Village , could put
