Edmonds
Director of Parks & Recreation
Ramsey County Open Space System
520 Commerce Building
St. Paul , Minnesota 55101
Dear Mr. Edmonds:
We have reviewed the staff report, dated March 31 , 1975, on the
Round Lake Open Space Proposal and concur with the general concept.
Our only reservation about the concept is the timing and levelsofuseonthelakesurfaceandtheseasonalhikingpath. These
are very sensitive wildlife areas and all use must be carefully
regulated and possibly should be limited to only guided wildlife
observation and study activities.
If Ramsey County is successful in acquiring the adjacent 55.93
acres , it will complement the Round Lake Waterfowl Production
Area and allow both agencies to fulfill the joint interest in
wildlife production and maintenance and outdoor recreation. It
is our intention to continue the cooperation in the management
of the federal and county owned Round Lake lands.
If further assistance is needed, please contact this office.
Sincerely yours ,
zi,ovedn., //Law
Gordon H.
