September <br />Karen Caswell, Megan Gange and Brad Seilaff, University of <br />Minnesota students in the School of Landscape Architecture, pre- <br />sented to the Parks and Recreation Committee their detailed study <br />and report on the C. G. Rein property on New Brighton road, and Floral <br />Park. <br />The presentation included the following data, maps and draw- <br />ings for both areas : <br />Type of soils and construction suitability <br />Contour or slope maps <br />Vegetation inventory maps <br />Visual analysis maps <br />Constraint maps for high intensive activities <br />Constraint maps for low intensive activities <br />Concept plans for creating woods and meadows with "edges" <br />and traveling lanes for wildlife. <br />Three concept plans for each area. <br />Following the presentation and discussion, J. McTavish moved, <br />seconded by M. Gronin, that the Committee accept the reports and send <br />a letter commending the students for the very excellent, thorough <br />work. The reports gave the Committee a broad and fresh concept of <br />k.l, land use for possible future development.
