MINUTES CONCERNING SAMPSON PARK <br />41, 1970 <br />Parks and Recreation Committee Minutes : January <br />Three ( 3) pieces of tax forfeited land are to be ac- <br />quired as park area upon notice from the County . Mr. Philip <br />Sampson has offered to donate land to the Village . The property <br />is adjacent to the tax forfeited land on Lake Lane and the <br />Pedestrial Trail . <br />February <br />Tax forfeited lands acquisition has not yet been com- <br />pleted . Property donation from Mr. Philip Sampson is delayed <br />due to Mr . Sampson ' s illness . <br />March <br />Acquisition of tax forfeited lands and Sampson ' s <br />property are still incomplete . <br />September <br />It was reported that Philip Sampson , of Lake Lane , sent <br />a letter to Vincent Courtney , through his attorney , givino land <br />to the Village with two provisions : first , that the Village <br />install a plaque to say "This land is donated by the Sampson family <br />in memory of Maye E . Sampson who enhanced the beauty of this spot <br />by planting trees " ; second , that the property be used for park <br />land only . <br />The Village has agreed to rebate him taxes he has paid re- <br />cently of $24 .65 and $46 . 60 water assessment due . <br />This land , on Lake Lane in the western part of the Village , <br />is adjacent to tax delinquent land the Park Department is re- <br />ceiving .
