<br />. <br /> <br />~~ Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />. <br />. <br /> <br />May 25, 1970 <br /> <br />Action on the contract was deferred by the Councl I for clarification <br />of negotiations. <br /> <br />Councilman Henderson reported that Mr, Taylor made an offer to sell <br />5 acres of his property to the Village for use as a future Public <br />Works building site, The cost of such property would be $45,000,00. <br />Mr. Henderson was requested to inform Mr. Tayior that the Village Is <br />in no position to act upon the offer at the present time, <br /> <br />Indl~ency Determination <br />Councilman John Hollenhorst requested clarification of the method of <br />determining Indlgency and the possible recourse provided the Village <br />for funds expended in the provision of a Pubilc Defender, Attorney <br />Courtney advised the CouncIl of the procedure; advising that more <br />Information may be requested, <br /> <br />Attorney Courtney was requested to obtain additional detal led In- <br />formation. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD lUND <br /> <br />Northern States Power - Request to Bury Cable In Fernwood Avenue <br />Engineer Donald Lund advised the Council ~hat he met with Maintenance <br />Supervisor Everett Beecher and a representative of Northern States <br />Power Company re Northern States Power Company's request to bury <br />In excess of 1000 feet of cable In Fernwood Avenue north of County <br />Road F. He advised that Northern States Power Company has agreed <br />to re-evaluate the location possibilities; giving consideration to <br />locating the cable In the street right-of-way area along the east <br />side of Fernwood Avenue rather than In the paved portIon of the <br />street. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOlLENHORST - Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN RONALD HERRICK - Parks and Recreation and Human Rights <br /> <br />In the absence of Councilman Herrick, Clerk Administrator Lorraine <br />Stromquist read a report re the proposed Improvement of Valentine <br />Park by the Little Lakes Little League, under the direction of <br />Engineer Bradford lemberg, 1401 Skiles Lane: al i of whom have <br />volunteered their services to the Village, The Village Is to furnish <br />the gravel and sod for the project. <br /> <br />After discussion, It was determined by the Council that a drawing <br />of the proposed project be requested and referred to Maintenance <br />Supervisor Everett Beecher for his review, Clerk Administrator <br />Lorraine Stromquist was requested to obtain Information on the <br />availability and costs of insurance to cover the vo'unteer labor. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN E. GRAY HENDERSON - Finance and Municipal Lands <br />and Buildings <br /> <br />Request for Water and Sanitary Sewer Connection to Villa~e of New <br />Brl~hton - John Blomquist <br />Councilman Henderson reviewed a letter from Mr. John B~omqulst, re- <br />questing sewer and water hook-up to the New Brighton systems for his <br />property at 4760 Old Highway 8, <br /> <br />The Council determined that Mr, Blomquist be advised to request the <br />hook-up directly from the Village of New Brlghto~ obtaining subsequent <br />approval from the Village of Arden Hills, <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN STANLEY OLMEN - Public Works <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
